"Education, Culture And History In The Development Of Civilizations"

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the project students will:

· Recognize the Armenian culture and outline its role in the history of civilizations,

· Develop knowledge about the educational system in Armenia, Russia, Lithuania, Finland and Belarus,

· Understand and explain the processes of transformation in education in the context of globalization and educational reforms,

· Compare and analyze the relationship of different educational systems, as well as determines the further development of higher education in the participating countries,

· Identify and compare the role of education in the development of Armenia, Russia, Finland, Lithuania and Belarus,

· Express opinions and ideas, as well as defend their point of view with relevant arguments in discussions,

· Express thoughts and effectively support interpersonal relationships in an intercultural environment,

· Effectively work in a team.

Period: August 10-19, 2016

Duration: 10 days / 9 nights

Accommodation: ASPU Research-Educational Training Center, Aghavnadzor

Arrival of the students to Zvartnots international Aiport, Yerevan

Currency exchange

Transfer to Aghavnadzor, placement

Presentation of the Summer School Program, Ice-breaking session, Group formation

SECOND DAY/ THURSDAY/11.08.2016

Trip to Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery (84 km.)

Topic: Introduction to the cultural heritage of Armenia, Armenia at the crossroads of East and West followed by discussion.
