1. Name at least 10 products of daily use made of glass.

2. Have you ever broken anything expensive which was made of glass? How did it happen? What consequences did it have?

3. Think of the most unusual object you have seen that was made of glass. Try to imagine a product that could be made of glass but currently isn’t. Make a list.

4. Have you ever seen ice sculpture? Are there other products you know of that imitate the look of glass?

TEAMWORK• Use the glass nail file product from the company as inspiration to

work as a design team charged with innovation. In groups of 3, your task is to imagine and create as many ideas as you can to innovate a new glass product for market. You can create new inventions or you can re-imagine the use of an existing household or beauty object made from any other material and turn it into a glassware item. What kinds of products could you develop? Brainstorm a list of possibilities.

• Select the best 3 ideas and develop them as a storyboard with sketches for how they would look. Present them to the rest of the groups. Vote for the best idea of all the groups.

• What would be the next steps you would need to take as an entrepreneur if you wanted to patent your idea and fabricate it?
