DRESSAGE REPORT
On Saturday 20th July, 12 Blankney members competed in the Area
Dressage Competition. The day started well with Charlotte Barber riding
JR II coming 3rd in the Open Dressage and qualifying for the National
Championships at Cholmendley Castle. This was followed by a good
performance by Liberty Nichols and Tuddle Lane who were just outside
the placings. After a short break the Junior and Novice teams arrived,
beautifully turned out and well prepared for their tests. The Junior Team
of Honor Whitehead, Amber Casey and Charlotte Lawson finished 4th
overall with each member of the team achieving an individual placing in
their arena too; a team with much promise for the future. Out of a large
number of teams our Novice teams finished 5th and 13th with some
exceptional individual results: Olivia Mawditt and Cwmduad Peter Pan produced a score of 72.5%
to win her arena and Grace Whitehead riding Lex finished 2nd in their arena on a very confident
71.6% (first dressage test for this combination), both riders qualifying for the Novice National
Championships at Kelsall Hill, Cheshire. It was a very long but rewarding day.

SHOW JUMPING REPORT
It was an early start for our Open Show Jump
riders on Saturday 27th July at Speetley in Derby-
shire; their coursewalk was at 7.30am! Ryan Page,
Hannah Scully and Jade Lawson started the morn-
ing all jumping clear in the first round. Jade went
on to jump a double clear, with Ryan and Hannah
just rolling a pole to finish 5th as a team. Jade
jumped a fast, clear in the jumpoff to finish 2nd
and qualify for the Open Championships.
Novice and Junior Teams had more of a lie in as they were not jumping until later in the day! The
Novice Team set their stall out with all 4 riders jumping clear in the first round. Daisy and Hollie
went on to jump clear in the second round with Ella and Molly finishing on 4 faults. After a long
wait, it was announced no teams had finished on zero and there were 7 teams finishing on 4 faults.
So it was a scramble to get riders and ponies ready for the
jumpoff! We were the 6th team to jump and there was
only one team who had jumped clear in this final round.
Hollie set the ball rolling with a clear in a good time,
followed by Daisy just rolling a pole. Molly followed with
a clear, just leaving Ella to hold everything together ….
which she did, jumping a clear round in a very fast time.
The team finished 2nd overall, qualifying for the Novice
Championships. Hollie finished individual 7th. To top it
all our immaculate riders and ponies won the Turnout Prize. Well done everyone.
Not to be outdone the Junior Team of Olivia Mawditt, Charlotte Lawson, Stephanie Sacks and Angus
Williams jumped two good rounds to finish 4th as a team. Olivia jumped a double clear in a good
time to be placed 4th individual.

EVENTING REPORT
At the end of 3 weekends of
hard competition our Novice
Team of Hollie Jepson and
Kincon Prince, James Black and
Nieve Lad, Molly Harrison and
Safron IX and Ella Marshall and
Maverick all jumped double
clears to finish 3rd out of 26
teams therefore qualifying for
the Novice Championships.
They all set off early in order to
walk the crosscountry course at
9am, before the dressage. Flitteris Park is renowned for its undulating ground and the long hill to
the finish. Half way round the course, we were all hoping the horses were fitter than those walking
it! There was no need to worry, following some good dressage scores and 4 brilliant clear rounds in
the show jumping, we set off for the crosscountry. Molly first to go, was a good pathfinder finishing
clear, Hollie followed another clear and with plenty of running, then Ella comes bounding up the long
climb to the end with another clear round. James was last to go, clear and within the time. Double
clear by all riders!
