Fast Wi-Fi File Sharing from your PC to your BlackBerry
Requirements:BlackBerry OS 10 and above
Wi-Fi network – PC & BlackBerry connected
What’s the benefit of setting this up?
Fast, drag & drop files between your PC & BlackBerry Rapid access to documents you’ve been working on Save time moving files
Step 1: Let’s set your BlackBerry up for Wi-Fi sharing
i) From the home screen on your BlackBerry, scroll down from the top so you can access the Settings area
ii) Scroll down to find Storage and Access and click into it

iii) Create a password and click OK
iv) Write down or remember your password
Step 2: Write down your username
ii) Click on Identification on Network
iii) Write down your username
Step 3: Find your BlackBerry IP Address
i) From the main Settings menu, scroll down to About and click into it

iii) Write down the first section of the IP / IPv4 numbers
iv) In this case, the number is 192.168.0.3
Step 4: Get your PC ready
i) On your desktop click on the Start button then type the word run into the search bar
ii) Click enter

i) Enter your BlackBerry IP Address that we wrote down earlier with the prefix file:\\
ii) As an example, I would type in file:\\192.168.0.3
iii) Click OK
Step 5: BlackBerry Media Storage or Removable SD Card
i) Typically, if you have an SD card you should use it as your primary storage area. If so, click into “removable_sdcard”
ii) If you don’t use an SD Card, click into Media and use your BlackBerry’s own memory
Step 5: View your BlackBerry folders
i) You are now viewing all the folders on your BlackBerry
ii) Click into any of the folders to view files on your BlackBerry
Step 6: Setup your shortcut to any folder
i) Click into the address barii) Right click your mouse and select copy

i) On your PC desktop, right click the mouse
ii) Click on Newiii) Click on Shortcut

i) Click into the location barii) Right click and pasteiii) Click Next

i) Name your shortcut something familiar
ii) In this example, I’m calling my shortcut “BlackBerry-Documents”
iii) Click Finish
Step 7: Your shortcut folder over Wi-Fi is complete
i) Look for the shortcut link on your desktopii) You can now drag and drop documents from your PC to
your BlackBerry and vice versaiii) You can access this folder from your desktop or
BlackBerry and whatever documents you place in this folder will be accessible to you on either device
Step 8: Viewing the folder on your BlackBerry
1. Go to File Manager 3. View your documents2. Click into Documents
Create another shortcut to a different folder
i) If you want to setup another shortcut link for perhaps pictures or videos, repeat from slide 17
ii) Click into any folder then copy the address bar again
