Additionally, you can do the following tasks with your smartphone: Synchronize your organizer data (calendar entries, contacts, tasks, and memos) Manage and update your smartphone applications Use your smartphone as a modem to connect to the Internet from your computer

About this release This release includes new synchronization software for organizer data (calendars, contacts, tasks, and

memos) with a refreshed user interface.

You can import individual pictures and videos.

Fixed issuesThis section lists issues fixed between BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.0 bundle 44 and BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.0 bundle 59.

Installation/Connection

DT 2376819 Previously, if you removed your smartphone or tablet settings from the BlackBerry Desktop Software using the Forget device option, if you reconnected the same device, the BlackBerry Device Manager displayed the connected device, but the BlackBerry Desktop Software didn’t connect to it.

DT 1087222 Previously, if the BlackBerry Desktop Software wasn’t maximized on your computer and you connected a device that required a password, the password prompt was hidden behind other applications on your computer.

Synchronizing organizer data

IBM Lotus Notes

DT 2404454 Previously, if you configured two-way sync for your calendar and you enabled All of the following conditions and created a filter condition, if a calendar entry failed the filter and you then changed it to pass the condition and re-synced, the entry was not added to your smartphone.

Previously, if you configured two-way sync for your calendar and set a filter condition, if you added a recurring calendar entry to your mail client that met the filter condition, the BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronized the entry to your smartphone. If you updated the calendar entry from your email client so that it didn’t meet the filter condition, the BlackBerry Desktop Software updated the entry on the smartphone but didn’t remove it.

Microsoft Outlook

DT 2357272 Previously, if you had more than one profile configured in Microsoft Outlook and you switched between your profiles in the BlackBerry Desktop Software, you had to reset the synchronization settings for your organizer data.

DT 1992590 Previously, if you configured one-way sync from your computer to your smartphone and selected Don’t sync conflicting data for your organizer data, the BlackBerry Desktop Software might have synchronized changes you made to organizer data on your smartphone to your computer.

DT 1824146 Previously, if you updated organizer data items on your computer, the BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronization summary window might have displayed an incorrect number of changes that needed to synchronize with your smartphone.

Device switchDT 1231932 Previously, when switching to a new device, the BlackBerry Desktop

Software closed when you disconnected your previous device while you were restoring data to your new device.

Closed issuesThis section lists issues closed between BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.0 bundle 44 and BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.0 bundle 59.

Installation/ConnectionDT 1218240 If Microsoft Windows cannot access a mapped drive, and you open the

BlackBerry Desktop Software and connect a tablet, the BlackBerry Desktop Software mounts the tablet to the mapped drive that isn’t accessible. When you disconnect the tablet, the drive has no settings mapped to it.

Upon further investigation, this issue could not be reproduced.

If you configure two-way sync for your tasks and you update a recurring task from your smartphone, when the BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes the change with your computer, the priority of the recurring task defaults to medium.

Upon further investigation, this issue could not be reproduced.

Microsoft Outlook

DT 2897354 If settings in the BlackBerry Desktop Software are reset when you have a recurring calendar event that has exceptions, and the entries are synchronized between your smartphone and Outlook, upon first sync after configuring your calendar item again, you will get duplicate items on your smartphone and desktop.

Upon further investigation, this issue could not be reproduced.

Wi-Fi music syncDT 1406901 There is more than one playlist with the same name in Windows Media

Player if you have a playlist with the same name on your smartphone and in your Windows Media Player, and you sync.

Upon further investigation, this issue could not be reproduced.

Known issuesThis section lists known issues for BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.0 bundle 59.

Installation/ConnectionDT 743522 The memory information on the last screen of the device switch or new

device wizard isn’t displayed if your device fails to connect with the BlackBerry Desktop Software.

ApplicationsDT 693806 It might take longer than expected to display device application

information or device application summaries.

Backing up and restoring dataDT 751826 You receive the following error when you back up your data and your

device name is longer than the hard drive file system limit or longer than the backup file name: “There was an error backing up. There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the backup. Verify that the device is turned on and connected.”

Synchronizing organizer data

General

DT 3012749 If you have two-way synchronization configured for your organizer data, and you switch to one way synchronization to the device and update an organizer data entry on your smartphone, if you then change the sync direction to one-way to your computer, the change on your smartphone is not synchronized to your computer.

IBM Lotus Notes

DT 3540567 If you have one-way synchronization to your smartphone from your computer configured for tasks and you have a conflict between a recurring event on your smartphone and a non-recurring event in your mail client, if you choose to update the event from your mail client, the event on your smartphone is updated but the event type is not changed from recurring to non-recurring.

DT 3509203 If you have two-way synchronization configured for tasks and you update a deferred recurring task from your mail client, the change might not synchronize to your smartphone.

DT 3482707 If you have-one way synchronization from your smartphone to your computer configured for your calendar data and you update a calendar event in IBM Lotus Notes and you make the same update on your smartphone, when you sync your organizer data, the Conflict Resolution dialog displays a conflict with the calendar update that you made.

DT 3467524 If you update a task that and then synchronize the changes, in the Items Dialog box, the BlackBerry Desktop Software shows the Start Date as changed even though the value was not updated and has not changed from the original task.

DT 2984715 If you configure two-way synchronization for your tasks, reminders set for recurring tasks in IBM Lotus Notes are not synchronized to your smartphone.

DT 2498499 If you configure two-way sync for your contacts and you create a contact from your smartphone and do not enter a last name for the contact, when the contact synchronizes to your email client, the Title for the contact displays as 0.

DT 2441110 The Status, Alarm Time, and Alarm Date fields display as conflicts for tasks and recurring tasks created on the smartphone when you synchronize your organizer data.

DT 2403825 If you configure two-way sync for your calendar and set an ‘Is after <today’s date>’ filter condition, if you add a recurring entry to your mail client for the current date, the entry is synchronized in error.

DT 2403269 If you configure two-way sync for your calendar and you create an all-day entry or anniversary event on your computer with a reminder set in

minutes, the reminder on the smartphone will not be correct.

DT 2388238 If you configure two-way sync for your calendar entries and you create a meeting on your smartphone, the BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes the meeting to Lotus Notes as an appointment. From Lotus Notes, you can’t change the appointment to a calendar entry or invite attendees to the appointment.

DT 2370917 If you configure synchronization for your tasks and you disable the Due Date/Time field level mapping and then click Sync, you receive the following error message: CRRecurringl::IsValidRecurringField: “Due Date/Time” field NOT found in FieldTempateMap.

DT 2369960 If you configure synchronization for your memos and you click Advanced and then click the Fields tab, the BlackBerry Desktop Software does not display any field mappings.

DT 2029481 Changing a recurring calendar entry or task on your smartphone deletes the data in the invitees and dates fields after synchronizing it to Lotus Notes.

Microsoft Outlook

DT 3603891 If you configure two-way sync for your contacts and you restore a .pst file to Microsoft Outlook and you restore a backup file to your smartphone, the first time you synchronize your contacts, if a contact is in your mail client and on your smartphone, the BlackBerry Desktop Software prompts you with conflicts between the duplicate contact entries.

DT 2058847 If you configure two-way sync for your calendar, an extra entry is added to your calendar if you change a recurring calendar entry from your email client and sync.

DT 1446782 If you are a delegate and you create a calendar entry in another person’s calendar, the BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes the calendar entry in the other person’s desktop calendar but the entry is not synchronized to the person’s smartphone.

DT 1414044 If you change a non-mapped field for a contact on your computer, this contact shows up as changed during a sync.

DT 1254615 If you configure two-way sync for memos, the BlackBerry Desktop Software might report a conflict between a memo you create on your smartphone and a note you create in Outlook even when the entries are unique.

Windows 7

DT 3484505 If you have two-way synchronization configured for your contacts and you update the first and last name of a contact on your smartphone, when you synchronize the change, the First and Last name fields are updated correctly in your mail client but the Full Name field isn’t updated with the new information.

DT 3426582 If there is a conflict after you synchronize your contacts and you accept the changes from your mail client, in the Items Dialog box, the BlackBerry Desktop Software does not show the Changed from column; it only shows the Field and Value columns.

DT 2737999 If you are using Windows 7 Calendar and you configure synchronization for tasks in the BlackBerry Desktop Software, when you click Sync, the BlackBerry Desktop Software displays the following synchronization error message: CPreferencesManager: Configuration Value for /Preferences 1/CalFilename not set in TransConfig.xml. Instead, the BlackBerry Desktop Software should prompt you to select your calendar file.

Windows Vista

DT 3486502 If you have two-way synchronization configured for your contacts and you update a contact from your smartphone, when you synchronize the change, the update synchronizes to your contact list successfully. If you perform the sync again without making any changes, the BlackBerry Desktop Software indicates a change has been made on your smartphone, although when you view the Item Details, no information is changed.

DT 1825291 If you have Microsoft Windows Vista installed on your computer and you create an all-day event from your computer, when the BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronizes the event to the Calendar application on your smartphone, the event doesn’t display as an all-day event on the smartphone.

Device switchDT 757762 After backing up your data while switching your device, if you click the

back arrow to return to the “Select optional data” screen and change your backup options and then continue, your backup should start again. The backup doesn’t start and you can’t cancel out of the screen.

CertificatesDT 1261063 If you select Notify me when a CRL server cannot be contacted during

an update, the BlackBerry Desktop Software doesn’t send a notification when it cannot contact a CRL server.

DT 1140159 You have the option to sync a certificate that is marked non-exportable, but that type of certificate can’t be synced.

Media

Music

DT 2041175 Using Windows Media Player as your music source, if you try to sync a playlist that contains .wma files with Windows Media Lossless encoding, the playlist isn’t playable on your device and you receive the following message: The media “01 nagaiaida” being played is of an unsupported

Software Microsoft Windows XP SP3 or later, Windows Vista, Windows 7

Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 or an active Internet connection

iTunes version 7.7.1 or later or Windows Media Player version 10 or later for music synchronization

BlackBerry devices

For media synchronization, you need a device with BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 or later and a media card or built-in media storage

For Wi-Fi music sync, you need a device running BlackBerry 6 or later

For other desktop features, you need a device with BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 or later

Desktop email programs

For enterprise integration with BlackBerry Enterprise Server, one of the following email program requirements must be met:

Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007 or 2010 (corporate or workgroup installation) with an email account on a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 Service Pack 4 or later that can receive messages from the Internet

IBM Lotus Notes 5.0.6 or later with an email account on an IBM Lotus Domino Server version 5.03 or later (5.0.12 or later recommended) that can receive messages from the Internet

Organizers The following organizers are supported for synchronization:

IBM Lotus Notes 6.5, 7, 8, 8.5

Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010

Windows Calendar (Windows Vista, Windows 7)
