Ready. Set. Volunteer!

Interested in serving your community but pressed for time? Not to worry! Check out more ways to get involved at your own pace.

o Feed the Birds.

Do-it-yourself bird feeders are insanely easy to create. So, go ahead and make a feast that is sure to flock some feathers!

o Clean out closets and storage boxes.

Start the New Year off right by removing the old clutter. One man’s trash is another’s treasure, so reach out to your local Salvation Army or Good Will and recycle those goods!

o Get lucky.

Lucky Puppy Rescue and Retail is a 100% nonprofit organization based in Studio City. All proceeds go directly to rescue dogs from the local kill shelters in Los Angeles. Puppies are also available for adoption. If you’re not ready for a pet, you can make a tax-deductible donation.

o Love it. List it.

Make a simple list of ways you LOVE to serve and set a goal to complete a single service activity a month. It’s that simple, and a great addition to those New Year resolutions!

The benefits that come with

volunteering are no mystery to the

average Samaritan, but you may be

surprised to learn just how fulfilling

volunteering can be.

#1 Get Connected

Volunteering connects you with the

community. So, make some friends,

meet your neighbors, and exercise

those social skills! #SocialWorkout.

#2 Good for your mind, Good for

your Body

Volunteering benefits your physical and

mental health. A few of the advantages

include building self-confidence,

combating depression, and

maintaining good health overall.

#3 Skill Advancement

Learn something new everyday, right?

So, just imagine the skills you can

acquire and advance by doing

something you don’t typically do

everyday. Such skills can transfer into

your profession or you can simply

discover new talents you never knew

you had.

#4 Fun AND Fulfillment

Volunteering can be a great escape

from the day-to-day hustle and bustle.

So, find your inner creativity through a

fun and relaxing activity that will reset

your motivation and vision and make a

significant impact on your personal and

professional life.
