Here’s the Secret
How many times have you experienced a problem with an in-grade light fixture? We’ve all seen them — expensive products that turn into terrariums after less than a year in the field. Most of the issues that contribute to their dismal performance are caused by the tedious and impractical methods currently used to try to seal them against dirt and moisture.
Our approach to the problem relied on highly engineered components and a design so advanced that it resulted in our third U.S. Patent application. Our solution turned out to be so simple that if you have ever canned peaches in your grandmother’s kitchen, you have learned how to seal our Precision2® In- Grade fixture. It is really that easy.
The secret is our patented HydroLock® plate. It works just like a mason jar top - and since it seals above the conduit entrance, where 80% of all leaks occur, it eliminates the need for the not-so-successful pipe seals, encapsulants, and potting compounds that are normally used to try and create a water tight installation.
It is this simple device which has revolutionized in-grade lighting, and is one of the key reasons why Precision2®
is better.
Place the housing in excavated trench or hole .

A Water Management System That Works Water is the main enemy of in-grade lighting . The integrated components
of Precision2’s® Water Management System represent a whole new way of handling the problem, resulting in years of trouble-free performance .
IP-68 Rated* Precision2® is rated for continuous use when submerged and does not depend on drainage for normal fixture operation.

HydroLock®
Patented HydroLock® technology isolates the wiring system by providing a fail safe water barrier between the junction box and interior components. ASV™ prevents “wicking” through the conductor’s insulation.
ACV™ The patented Anti- Condensation Valve (ACV™) eliminates condensation from the fixture’s interior.
Watertight Silicone Filled Wire Nuts (factory furnished)ensure a Watertight Splice.
“O” Ring Two high temperature silicone “O” Ring seals - one at the faceplate and one on the patented HydroLock® create a hermetic fixture seal.
...then change the lamp. The vacuum seal will renew itself automatically.
When the fixture is energized, Precision2’s®
patented ACVTM allows the warm, expanding air inside the optical chamber to escape.
When the unit is de-energized, cool, moist, outside air cannot re-enter. Normal operation creates a vacuum so strong, it operates under water.
When it is time to change the lamp, simply remove the faceplate...
The patented Anti-Condensation Valve* (ACVTM) has revolutionized the way we control internal condensation and all the inherent problems that condensation may cause . The ACV™ controls condensation by not allowing it to form — by creating an atmosphere in which condensation cannot exist .
It is widely known that all outdoor lighting fixtures must breathe . When the fixture is on, the heat of the lamp causes the air inside the fixture to expand . As the pressure builds, the expanded air tries to escape anywhere it can: through the weakest mechanical fastener, through the sealing surface or through holes in the fixture put there by the manufacturer for this purpose . When the fixture is shut off, the air pressure inside the fixture collapses . This change in pressure draws outside moisture-laden air back into the fixture . When the temperature reaches dew point, the air condenses into water droplets that coat every component inside the fixture and begins to corrode it from the inside out . Over the years, manufacturers have tried many ways to control this contamination . Nothing has really worked, until now .
The ACV™ system works as a one-way valve in its normal position . When the fixture is energized and the pressure builds inside, the static air inside the optical chamber is allowed to escape through the ACV .™ When the fixture is turned off and the pressure collapses, the ACV™ prevents air from returning into the lamp chamber . Since all other components are hermetically sealed, a vacuum is then formed inside the lamp chamber which precludes the formation of condensation .
The air pressure will equalize when the faceplate is removed for lamp service . The process automatically repeats itself — normal operation of the fixture reinitiates the vacuum which prevents condensation from forming . Nothing could be easier and nothing is equal to the patented Anti-Condensation Valve (ACV™) .
