IMPORTANT NOTE

Deadline of receipt of duly filled application form at BITS-Pilani is 14th July, 2014.

All forms must be signed by the candidate as well as verified and sent by the respective country coordinator. In case, coordinator of any country suspects that due to postal delays or any other reason, physical copies may not reach Pilani by the stated deadline, he / she must ensure that scanned copies of signed forms and documents may be sent as a single zipped document (one zipped file per program) to the BITS-Pilani coordinator at the address given below. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani is an all-India institution deemed to be a university established in the year 1964 under Section 3 of the UGC Act. It is privately supported, fully residential and admits both men and women students.

The mission of BITS is to prepare young men and women to act as leaders for the promotion of the economic and industrial development and to play a creative role in society. It has the reputation of a highly purposive and innovative university often setting the pace for workable reforms in higher education.

BITS has been following semester system with continuous and internal evaluation since its inception. The educational programmes are modular and flexible.

Through its Practice School programme, BITS has established purposeful linkages with universities.

The Institute has evolved a direction for Research which makes research relevant to the developmental and social needs of its locales (countries) of operation. It has developed and adopted a unique academic administrative structure which makes all its innovations possible and workable.

The Institute operates educational programmes at three tiers of education, namely, the Integrated First Degree programmes, Higher Degree programmes and the Doctoral programmes. All programmes in the Institute are designed to allow as many components of science and applied science as are necessary for the graduates of the programmes to function effectively and efficiently in the technological society.

BITS, Pilani has been recently re-accredited by the National Assessment

The Institute has grown over the years as one of the premier institutions in India and has established three more campuses in Dubai (2000), Goa (2004) and Hyderabad (2007).

The Institute has had the advantage of having collaboration with MIT (USA), with the help Ford Foundation Grant, Cambridge, Cringe Mellon University, etc.

In addition, the Institute also conducts a number of work-integrated learning programs leading to various degrees for employed professionals.

Certificate Course on offer by BITS for the PAN-African e-Network

BITS-Pilani plans to offer certificate-only courses organized along two separate tracks comprising of a course package of six courses per certificate track spread over two semesters’ duration with the course work of three courses per semester. Depending upon his / her eligibility and interest, student may choose any one track.

Track 1: Database & Information Systems Track (Offering)

Track 2: Electronics & Instrumentation Track (Offering)

For Track1 candidate should have basic knowledge about computer programming skills.

BITS Pilani Brochure for the Pan-African e-Network Program Medium of instruction: Medium of instruction in all cases shall be English and as such each semester’s course package includes one well defined course to prepare the students to acquire adequate communication skills.

Admission eligibility: Passing of respective country’s school examination equivalent of the Indian CBSE 12th examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) subjects.

Instructions:

(1) The application process, announcement of results, detailed instructions etc. shall be all announced at the programme’s URL: http://www.bits-pilani.ac.in/PAEN or any other URL announced by BITS Pilani during the various stages of the admission process. It is the responsibility of the candidate to follow these announcements and instructions.

(2) Only duly signed and completed application forms shall be acceptable. All such forms must be submitted to BITS through the Coordinator University of the respective Country.

(3) After the application data is entered online, a unique application number will be assigned to your form which would be intimated to you. Please quote that unique application number

in all subsequent correspondence with the Institute.

(4) An attested copy of Higher secondary school leaving transcript / certificate should be enclosed with the application form.
