Happy Birthday Canada! 2017 is our great nation’s 150 Birthday and we are pleased to see all the wonderful celebrations being held throughout the area, not just on July 1st, but all year long. Our events schedule shows well over 100 events, many of which celebrate our nation, including a handy ‘pull-out’ section in the middle of this guide. Please be sure to support our events throughout the year, but especially those being held July 1-3, 2017.
Also be sure to have a look through our guide and take note of all the multitude of services and amenities we have to offer. Our Community provides a modern Medical Centre, with all its associated services, ambulance and air ambulance, enhanced fire services, parks and recreational facilities and programs, special event/rental halls, Arts Centre, Moira Lake, seasonal camp grounds, and over 20 kilometres of trails. We are the home of a large farm community, vibrant commercial centre, seniors apartments and hospice, OPP regional centre, Public and Secondary schools, numerous churches, Ivanhoe Cheese, and the greatest staff and volunteers in Ontario.
Whether you are just passing through, staying for a week, or a lifetime, we invite you to stop long enough to smell the coffee and enjoy the many attractions that make Centre Hastings the best darn place in the world.

Municipality of Centre HastingsNestled in the heart of Hastings County lies the unique community of Centre Hastings with a population of 4,453 residents spread out over 222 sq km. In 1998 the Urban (Madoc Village) and the Rural (Huntingdon Township) amalgamated to form the Municipality of Centre Hastings.
Boasting a rural, urban and recreation setting the municipality offers many features for residents and visitors. Among the inviting amenities is the Centre Hastings Park, that is home to the widely known Skate Park. In addition there are many other recreational features throughout the Municipality from south to north.
Many family farms still exist in the rural setting of the Municipality along with modernized farming. The various farming elements consist of dairy, beef, sheep, pigs along with hobby farms.
Centre Hastings is the home of Moira Lake that is a popular spot to local and foreign visitors for Muskie, Bass and Pickerel fishing. The park presents itself with new washrooms/change rooms, picnic shelters, expanded parking lots and a new, improved boat launch.
In a small urban setting the village offers a variety of shops and services. One of the major services provide is the Tri Area Medical Centre.

Three or four films will be selected with a diverse audience in mind. The day will begin with a family film, then continue with a film about Canadian youth, and then continue on into the evening with a critically acclaimed selection of film(s) that are sure to please an audience from Centre Hastings. Come April 2017, along with participation in Canada’s National Film Day (April 19th), a full list and descriptions of the selected films will be published and available to the public. As well, while individual admissions will be sold on the day of July 2nd, All-Day Passes will also be sold in advance starting in April.
