    Furnish with Finance

Warren Buffet, popularly known as the ‘Oracle of Omaha,’ is an Investment Guru and one of the richest and most respected businessmen in the world. He started investing in shares at an early age of 11, which according to him was late enough. He always emphasizes on personal savings, consumption and expenditure. Youth often misinterprets their savings and consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to make young people aware of personal finance during their college life. If they do not have the basic skills to make effective financial decisions, they can incur unnecessary debt, miss opportunities to save money and develop a poor credit history. With the aim of making students sound about finances, the Department of Management Studies organized an event FURNISH WITH FINANCE on 8th January 2018. The students of B. Com. (Financial Management) made collegians understand the importance of investing in share market through a Dummy Stock Market and provided information on the importance of investing in shares. They also explained about various financial instruments with the help of graphs and charts specially designed by the students. A Currency Corner was also an attraction for the visitors, where currencies of various countries of the world including India were displayed. A special corner was created to give information about various schemes launched by our government for youth under ‘Pradhan Mantri Yojana.’ Food stalls and several games related to finance were an added attraction for more 350 students and 25 faculties who witnessed the event. This event was well organized by Mr. Suraj Agarwal, Activity In-charge, under the guidance of Vice Principal Dr. Avinash Patil and Mr. Anil Tiwari, In-charge, Department of Management Studies.
