How to Find Jackson Bottom: From Hwy 26, take exit 57 (Glencoe Rd.). Head south and pass through downtown Hillsboro. Glencoe Road becomes First Avenue, then Hillsboro Hwy (219). Entrance is on left, 6 miles from Hwy. 26. We are next to Clean Water Services. Walking from MAX is not recommended.

The Birds of Jackson BottomNearly 200 species of birds—150 species
expected annually—have been recorded on the 725 acre Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve. A nesting pair of Bald Eagles and a Great Blue Heron rookery is on the Preserve. BirdLife International has designated Jackson Bottom as an Important Bird Area. Over a thousand Tundra Swans and thousands of Northern Pintails regularly use Jackson Bottom in migration. The varied terrain,
trees and vegetation provide space for unique habitat-specific species. Several miles of looping trails provide access for excellent wildlife viewing.
