WG6: Societal Aspects of Implementation of Biometric Technology

The effective implementation of biometric technologies is highly dependent on users´ acceptance and trust.

Relevant tasks concerning the implementation of biometrics are:1. Standardised multi-modal measurements of acceptance and trust

General Attitudes: privacy, data security, etc. Specific Attitudes towards biometric sensor technology: reliability,

data security, invasiveness,

2. Development of standards to promote acceptance and trust of biometrics

Standards for data and privacy protection Standards for user friendly design of biometric technologies

Performance, interface, handling
