What is Yucca tree (Yucca Schidigera)?

• ‘Yucca Schidigera’ extracted from Yucca tree is originated from Southwest part of the U.S. and Northern

part of Mexico.

• It has been used by indian for a long time as shampoo, detergent, cosmetic preparation, etc.

• Natural foaming agent, antifungal with great effect of natural preservation, and natural foaming agent for

fermented alcohol and beverage.

• And it is used as anti hair loss preparations due to its effect of emollient, antiaging, hair recovering, and is

also used as detergent for shampoo, soap, and feminine cleanse.

• Foam generates from pH 2 to 10, and the foam is stable.

What is Saponaria Officinails?

• It has been used as soap from a long time ago and was planted near wash places in middle ages Europe.

• It is well known for natural soap containing Saponin and has a function of melting oil and of washing.

• It was used to wash hands or hair in the Middle east area and to wash sheep before shaving sheep’s hair

in Alpes.

BIORAN Nasural S is a natural material combining Yucca Schidigera and Saponaria Officinails, and has high

value as natural surfactant with great foam stability and as soft and natural detergent.

• To measure solubilization of BIORAN Natural S, we compared HC-60 which is a solubilizer for cosmetics.

• In case of BIORAN Natural S with oil added in it, layer separation has disappeared and it has become as transparent as control and the oil is well dispersed after solubilizing.

• To measure detergency of BIORAN Natural S, we compared with Soap Berry which is well-known as natural detergent and with SLES which is a natural surfactant for cosmetics.

• As a result judging from spreadability and degree of fade, BIORAN Natural S has the best detergency.

• MIC test has been done to measure preservation effect of BIORAN Natural S.

• Test strain: S.aureus, C.albicans

• Test method: Before cultivation, we measured absorbance after cultivating 24 hours and checked MIC concentration.

• Resuld: Preseravative effect is available on S.aureus, C.albicans at 25% of BIORAN Natural S.

• DPPH assay has been done to check antioxidant effect of BIORAN Natural.
