ThisoptionunderSystemallowstheinstallertochecktheinformationoftheterminalincludingstorage,firmware,algorithm,etc.ToretrievetheSystemInformationoftheterminalPressMenu>SysInfo.

RecordsShowsfreestorageandusedstorageoftheterminal,anddetailsofusercounts,ad-min counts and password users. It also displays other information such as FP tem-platesandlogstemplatesthathavebeenusedandareavailable.

DevicePressing “Device” displays the terminal name, serial number, MAC Address, finger-printalgorithm,firmwareversion,manufacturerandmanufactureddateandtime.

“UnabletoConnect”AppearsWhenthismessageappears,itmeansthatthesettingsfortheterminalandthecom-puterarenotproperlydone.Findoutwhichmethodyouareusingtoconnect.TheterminaloffersLAN,RS2�2,RS485andUSBcommunicationmethods.RefertoChapter4tofurtherunderstandthetopic.

“AdminAffirm”AppearsYouarenottheadministratorofthisterminal.OnlyanauthorizedadministratorofthesystemisallowedtoaccesstheMenu.AnyattemptofnormalusertoaccesstheMenuwillprompt“AdminAffirm”messageonthescreen.Incasetheadministratororhe/shehasresignedfromthecompany,kindlycontactyourFingerTecauthorizedresellertoaccesstheterminal.

DifficulttoReadFingerFivethingscouldbethecauseofthis:

Enrolmentisnotproperlydone:Enrolmentisthemostimportantprocesstoensurethattheterminalcapturesthebestqualityofyourfingerprints.Refertochapter4forhowtodoagoodenrollment.

The location of the terminal is not conducive: The scanner does not work well inbright-lightedarea.Coverthescanneralittleifthisisthecauseofthedifficulty.Shiftthelocationareaforabetterperformance.

Fingerisnotproperlyplaced:Togetagoodread,makesurethatyourfinger’scenterpointsarelocatedatthemiddleofthescanner.Adjustthepositionofyourfingerprintasyouseeitonscreen.

Thescannerisnotcleanedoritisscratched:Checkthequalityofthescanner.Ifthescannerisdirty,pleasecleanitwithamicrofibercloth.Ifitisscratched,contactyourlocalresellerforareplacement.

Didanythinghappentoyourfingerlately?Makesurethatthefingerisnotinjured,cutor bruised which could cause it difficulty to read. The algorithm reads the minutiaepointsofyourfingerprint,themoreitcanread,thebettertheresult.

TheLEDisBlinkingAllTheTimeYouhavenothingtoworryaboutunlesstheblinkinglightisred.Thegreenblinkinglightisindicatingthattheterminalisunderitsstandbymode.Redblinkinglightmaysignalproblemintheterminal.Contactyourresellerforconsultation.

“DuplicateFinger”AppearsFingerTecterminalsareintelligent.Itwillnotacceptthesamefingerprinttwiceintoitssystem.Ifyouhaveregisteredafingerintotheterminal,thesystemwouldprompt“duplicatefinger”whenyoutrytoenrollthatfingerforanothertime.Chooseadif-ferentfingertoproceed.

RFIDCardDoesn’tRespondTwopossibilitiesforthisproblem

Haveyouregisteredthecardtotheterminal?Thecardmustberegisteredtotheterminalbeforeitcanreadtheinformationinthecard.Refertochapter�Userforcardenrolment.
