My Docs and the H Drive

• My Docs and the H drive are NO LONGER connected

• If you save to My Docs, it will only save to that computer

• Please save to the H Drive!

• Here is how to find it! HINT: it’s the one with your name!

Drives• You need to know about

3 drives:

1. H drive- this is where you save your docs

2. S drive- this is a shared folder for you and your teachers

3. X drive- drop boxes to submit work.

Email on campus• You can use Outlook to

get your email on campus

• You don’t have to go through the NDSJ website.

• Just click this icon on your desktop

• Save a websites quickly and keep the formatting

• Print your website as a PDF

• Save it to your H drive

Here is how it works

Website Validation- What sites to use

• The site. Is it well-know, reputable?– Does the site or company

need user faith?• The author.

– Is an author listed? Can you contact them directly?

Things to Consider, cont.

• The web address- Watch out for ~!!– .gov? .edu? .org? OR .com? Big differences!

• When was it written? Is it current?– Science research changes

Using Delicious to share info

• www.delicious.com is a great way to share information with your group

• You can easily organize your bookmarks and get to them anywhere in the world

• You can label things with a “tag” and then put those “tags” in a “bundle”

• Sort of like binders/notebooks (tags) in your backpack (bundles)

My Delicious Account• I have over 600 bookmarks,

all organized with tags and bundles.

• This is a great way for you to share information amongst each other in a group.

• NDtech- a delicious site for your use

Create your own Delicious account

• Login to www.delicious.com• Create a new account• Don’t import bookmarks

now, you can do it later.• Choose a name that your

group will be able to remember/find- your ND login would be a good one….

How to find other people’s bookmarks

• Click people- on right click Go to a User

• Type in ndtech• This is the ndtech

account• I have created a tag for
