Lachlan Starr- Selected Photograph finalist in an International Competition Lachlan Starr our burgeoning photographer, who was a candidate for this year’s Young Australian of the Year has been selected as a finalist in the well-known Head On Photography Competition. A couple of months ago, Lachlan had entered his photograph, ‘The Brumby Silhouette’ into the Head On student Photography competition. This is a well renowned international competition and he was up against some of the best student photographers in the world. From all the students that entered across many different countries, Lachlan was selected as 1 of 20 finalists. Lachlan explains that ‘The Brumby Silhouette’, was taken during a short afternoon walk around a small paddock not far from the house on our property. This was good timing due to the dark skies from the smoke and dust storm combinations around NSW. The image was taken on the way up a hill which presented me with an elevated shooting position. This helps give just the solo theme and concentration on the horses with no background attention. From 4 to 19 May, all selected finalists in the Head On Photography competition will be on display around Sydney including the Paddington Reservoir Gardens, Parliament of NSW, the University of NSW and Town Hall to name a few. Lachlan has had the privilege of attending the exhibition opening night and viewing his work on display for the public. Well done Lachlan, an outstanding achievement! BINGARA CENTRAL SCHOOL

We have been keeping a Secret! Lachlan Starr- Selected Photograph finalist in an International Competition

Lachlan Starr our burgeoning photographer, who was a candidate for this year’s Young Australian of the Year has been selected as a finalist in the well-known Head On Photography Competition. A couple of months ago, Lachlan had entered his photograph, ‘The Brumby Silhouette’ into the Head On student Photography competition. SHOW JUMPING

Sydney Royal Easter Show

Having competed to a high standard at the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show, Jacqueline is hoping to be selected for the Nationals Showjumping Team in September.

“What a great experience it was competing at the Sydney Royal Easter Show as an Area 3 team member. Luck didn't play our way at the beginning when a team member was unable to compete, but with strong team members we finished third. Thank you to everyone in the team, mum and dad, my family for coming to watch me and Bingara Pony Club for all of your support. I am lucky to be a part of this amazing club. “

All students from Year 1 to Year 6 were involved in a tennis lesson with Ken Wray from Tennis Australia on Tuesday,7 May. Students thoroughly enjoyed their session and were very excited to have learnt some new skills.

I hit some balls and one went over the fence and onto the road. It was fun. I got a fan that glows in the dark and it says SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL. Then in a minute it changes to TENNIS IS IN THE AIR. Kade Hart

I have had fun at the tennis. I loved it. I had a racquet and I hit the ball. Luka Barac

At tennis I had lots of fun. We played lots of games. I like tennis because you get to hit the ball. Chase Martin

At the tennis we put two cones down that were the same colour. We batted the ball from the cones. Then we batted some balls. Ivy Miller
