Dear Recruiters,
430 students participated in the Commencement Day function of the 29th batch on June
17 this year. The bright and eager young lads and lasses who stepped into our portal
were agog with great expectations about their future. Quite a few of them were
accompanied by their guardians, who reflected the optimism of their wards.
Much as we were inspired by the presence of this huge energizing force in our campus, it
set us thinking as to how do we meet their aspirations. Especially when the atmosphere
is one of hope and optimism about India’s future but at the same time it is weighed
down by the global uncertainty and volatility.
What gives us confidence is our nearly three decades long track record as a management
institute. We have been through similar predicaments before. Our experience has taught
us that the best way to combat the uncertainties about the future is by staying
completely relevant and topical at all times. This is the closest that we can get to “future
proofing” our human capital in the making in the campus.
Both the wings of organized business – industry and services – are being subjected to
accelerated changes owing to disruptive developments in information technology,
internet, communication etc. These game changing developments are generating
obsolescence at a much faster rate and have been creating demand for new skills in the
areas of data analytics, IoT, design thinking in organizations and such, the knowledge of
which are considered the sine qua non for all practicing managers. We also take care in
impart the values of humility and excellence in achievement which are dear to the Birla
Group, which we are part of.
The way we cope with the consequences of such unprecedented demand for change is
by staying in constant touch with developments in industry and services through our
industry-academia forum, HR Round Tables conducted at national level, active campus
platforms like Lyceum where industry hot shots share their time and knowledge with
budding managers in the campus.
More than 16 vibrant Student Clubs, BIMTECH’s own energetic NGO and through such
other initiatives, students learn leadership by “doing” in the campus. Industry
familiarization with student visits to industrial establishments and workshops are yet
another bridge for us to keep our students well informed and involved with what’s
happening around them. In short, we try to impart life skills preparing our students for
the marathon rather than the sprit.
May we warmly invite you to our campus at Greater Noida for interacting with our
students and faculty, which would be yet another learning opportunity for us.
Dr. H. ChaturvediDirector
We’ve also embarked on our journey to attain the international standard of AACSB Certification...

In 2015 National Board of Accreditation, the highest domestic accrediting body accredited two of our flagship programmes up to 2020. In 2015 National Board of Accreditation, the highest domestic
accrediting body accredited two of our flagship programmes up
to 2020. We also initiated action for international
accreditation for the whole institute during the same time.
Out of the three known international accrediting bodies, we
short listed the US based accrediting body i.e. Association to
Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
As the longest serving global body dedicated to advancing
management education worldwide, AACSB has accredited so
far 761 of the world’s best business schools across 52 countries
and territories. Normally international accreditation process
demands a dedicated effort of four-to-five years. The business
schools accredited by AACSB get international recognition as
well as such schools are preferred by the recruiters. The
accreditation process ensures high quality research by the
faculty members and promotes deeper relationship with other
reputed international institutes / universities
Last year in May 2015, AACSB agreed and formally approved
our eligibility application after rigorous scrutiny. AACSB
nominated Prof. Fan Wang, Dean, Sun Yat-sen Business
School, China as our mentor. We are pleased to inform you
that we have now completed the next stage of the
accreditation process. The process involves compilation of a
detailed Initial Self Evaluation Report (iSER). The iSER
should be self reflective and considers the institution’s
strengths, weaknesses, and achievements. Analysis of
BIMTECH’s JOURNEY FOR AACSB ACCREDITATION

institutional data against the institutional Vision, Mission
and Values (VMV) undertaken by the relevant personnel, and
dialog about the results and effects of the analysis is a crucial
element in the process to ensure that the self evaluation
provides a comprehensive review of the institution. During
this summer vacation with the support of almost every
BIMTECH fraternity, we submitted initial self evaluation
report along with strategic plan 2016-20 to the AACSB as well
as to the mentor on 30th May 2016. The mentor has already
sent his first round of comments on the iSER. He will be
submitting his final report to AACSB after his visit in Sept
2016.
The accreditation process ensures high quality research by the
faculty members and promotes deeper relationship with other
reputed international institutes / universities. The recruiters
prefer the business schools accredited by AACSB The
accredited schools get international recognition.
BIMTECH is directing its energy to achieve the milestone by
2018. Everyone is passionate about its mission and values.
The accreditation process helps to channelize energy and
resources towards the attainment of mission. We are confident
that by 2018, BIMTECH would be one of the AACSB
accredited institutes in India.

Learning starts with the study group formation of the
students for the duration of their stay on the campus.
The formation of the group is self-done on the basis of
the chemistry of social life, culture, academic
background and work experience. The student
committee is drawn from all parts of India and some
foreign countries. They share ideas, thoughts, culture,
and personal experience. This makes their stay
enriching.
BIMTECH gives high priority to inviting industry
mentors to the campus for making business education
more hands on and relevant. The class room guidance,
with the combination of direction from tenured
professors, external industry experts and project
experience prepares a candidate on the fundamentals
as well as industry practices simultaneously.
PedagogyTeaching methodology is a combination of case based
method and lectures with high focus on collaborative
& self-learning and hands on industry practice.
Teaching of each subject is carried out as per detailed
course plan designed in accordance with the syllabus
and well defined course & programme objectives.
Each course comprises case studies, assignments,
presentations, working exercises, quizzes and group
discussion on current issues.
The evaluation is based on continuous internal
assessment and end-term examination.
Simulation, management games, role play and other
teaching techniques are used in the classroom for
greater effectiveness.
Current affairs, general awareness and ethical
practices are embedded in all modules.

PGDM has been the earliest programme initiated by the Institute to meet the needs of industry and organizations. The programme has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in 1993 and since then it has earned its reputation in the corporate world. This course enjoys NBA accreditation.
The PGDM course of BIMTECH has also been accredited by the Association Indian Universities (AIU) for equivalence with MBA. The course is also recognized by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), UK.
CAT scores obtained by students are used for screening more than 10,000 applications each year. Thereafter, the Essay/ GD/Personal Interview process is conducted with the support of senior corporate managers to select students for the programme.
Being an autonomous programme, PGDM is conducted in close association with the industry. Right from the admission of the students to the designing the curriculum and providing opportunities for short term projects, summer internship and nal placement, they are our partners. The
rigorous regime inculcates in the participants the ability to work under pressure, multi tasking, besides giving them a strong academic base. Wading through case studies, industry connects, guest lectures, presentations and assignments, students also learn time management, which is an essential requirement for being a successful manager.
The programme is spread over six trimesters with a three months' mandatory summer internship assignment between the rst and second year. In addition, students complete 2-3 short term projects as well as online live projects. Marketing, Finance, HR or Operations is offered as a specialization.
Students are exposed to the corporate world through BIMTECH's industry-academia interface, seminars, special guest lectures, workshops, summer internship of three months and short term projects, all of which are a part of the course design and has to be compulsorily taken up by the students. Live projects and industrial visits which are jointly guided by the industry managers and faculty develop students' understanding of modern business processes and practices.
STOP PRESS: BIMTECH is in nal stages of discussion with IBM for offering a co- branded elective course in Descriptive, Predictive and Big Data Analytics.

The aim of the Centre for Risk Management and Insurance (CIRM) of BIMTECH is to turn out insurance management executives who can, so to say, hit the track running in the insurance industry. This two year programme has the approval of AICTE like other BIMTECH programmes.
To achieve this objective, we offer cutting edge curricula. Among the recently introduced changes are a course on business analysis, study of advanced risk management (including enterprise risk management), glimpses of world insurance, micro nance, micro insurance and micro health insurance. This is, of course, besides the conventional insurance subjects both in life and non-life, as well as health insurance and reinsurance. The course is spread over six trimesters with a three months’ mandatory summer internship assignment between the rst and second year.
Besides, students are taught the elements of Actuarial Science, Marketing, Finance, CRM, OB & HR and Personal Financial Planning (Wealth Management). Rounding off the personality traits of the students is accomplished by focused training in soft skills, corporate visits and industry based projects.
The Centre has the following recognitions / tie ups:
• This programme receives academic inputs and technical support from Swiss Re and CII, UK.
• Dual qualication with PG Diploma Plus Programme from the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK (CII).
• Life Ofce Management Association (LOMA), USA, is BIMTECH's educational partner and BIMTECH is an approved centre for LOMA examination. Quite a few of the life insurance subjects taught at BIMTECH are based on the LOMA curriculum.
• The Two year PGDM (Insurance Business Management) has been recognized as equivalent to the Associate level of the Insurance Institute of India (III), Mumbai.
• The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK has accorded recognition (by way of credits) to our PGDM (Insurance Business Management) course.
• BIMTECH is an academic partner to the International Institute of Business Analysis, Canada (IIBA). Insurance students are taught the basics of Business Analysis and are eligible for international certication from IIBA.
