FOR THEIR FIRST FIRM IN TORONTO, LAWYERS DANIEL NYMAN AND TYLER CARLSON

REQUESTED A LOOK THAT WAS SIMPLE BUT SMART.

This modern interpretation of a historic wax seal calls to mind traditional values of honesty and

modesty. Clean edges and a soft serif font make for a contemporary, refined composition.

This concept takes its inspiration from flags; not simply a communication tool, they also represent strength,

guidance and leadership. The serif font responds to the more conservative side of the business but

integrates perfectly with the dynamism and modern sophistication of the simple ascending line.

Inspired by scales, the ancient symbol for justice, this logo portrays perfect balance using simple geometric forms in the golden ratio, one of the most significant

style principles in architecture, art and design. The idea explores the creation of proportions that are pleasing

to the eye not by symmetry, but by harmony. The result is a confident design with a bold message.

This concept is playful but assertive, its modernist forms speaking more

to a lifestyle than to the conservative elements of the law firm.
