MACHINE DESCRIPTION Ø The turret is driven centrally by a motor and reduction gear box. The turret speed is adjusted by A.C.

frequency drive.Ø The material is feed to feed frame / gravity feeder from the charging hopper. Ø All the cam profiles are made of alloy steels, hardened and ground to prevent rusting.Ø The upper and lower pressure roll assembly is easy to dismantle for cleaning and operator safety are

given due attention in the machine design.Ø The machine has some important features mentioned below with brief explanations respectively

CONSTRUCTIONMachine construction is of rugged design with turret made of highly ductile SG Iron casting. Feed frame is made of very rigid gun metal with sufficient height to avoid spillover of powder. Turret rotates on needle roller thrust bearing, which is immersed in oil for frictionless rotation. Specially designed 3 piece turret with die plate of SS 316 can be provided to meet cGMP requirements and to increase the strength of die table between two consecutive die pockets.

DRIVE ARRANGEMENTThe main drive consists of a variable frequency AC Drive coupled with an AC motor within combination with a precision worm reduction gear transmission The main motor and drive have been rated to permit the . start of the machine at any speed under maximum load without any complications. Electrical and mechanical safety devices are installed.

UPPER PUNCH PENETRATION

Ø This allows selection of the position within the die where the tablet is compressed & is measured from the die top face to the lower edge of the upper punch tip.

Ø The amount of punch entry is varied by, rotating the arm for main penetration machine rear. The reading on arm indicates the upper punch entry at main compression. The penetration range is from 3 to 6 mm.

Ø It is usual for the setting to be predetermined before commencement of marking tablets, although the setting can be altered later.
