situation, and I am very organized.

Our Rights Being Violated

In the Canadian Charter of Human Rights andFreedoms it states Everyone has the right toa standard of living adequate for the health

and well-being of himself and of his family,including food, clothing, housing, and medicalcare

However with the toxic waste dump thestandard of living for the health of my housingis being taken away.

Un-biased Opinions

Mr. Bobs point of view

Mr. Bobs water is at

high risk of being

polluted.

Homes could most likely

be destroyed.

The waste leaching intothe water could cause

death.

Oppositions point of view

The dump will bring

jobs to the community.

A place to dispose of

waste that wont affect

too many people.

The dump is not closeto many highly

populated cities.

Level of Government

The government that should be targeted to

eliminate the construction of a toxic waste

dump is the federal level. The federal level

should be targeted because: at the federal

level, the Canadian Environmental Protection

Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999) provides the

government with the authority to control themovement of hazardous waste.

Protecting Laws

Where there occurs or is a likelihood of a release into theenvironment of a substance specified on the List of Toxic

Substances in Scheduleany person whoowns or has the charge,

management or control of a substance immediately before its

release or its likely release into the environment; or causes or

contributes to the release or increases the likelihood of the

release shall take all reasonable measures consistent with the

protection of the environment and public safety to prevent the

release. Article 17 of the Environmental Protection Act. With this

the people constructing the dump must take full responsibility if

there is a spill, ensuring there will not be one.

having a better party platform than the

Conservatives, the Conservative party would

be able to help the citizens of Bikini Bottom

the most. This is because the MP of my riding

is a Conservative and the Conservative party

has a majority government, making them themost suitable to resolve the problems we face.

(CELA). CELA is most likely going to assist withmy cause by giving legal aid representation.CELA has been representing individuals andnon-profit community groups in court for 40

years! With this experience and skill CELAwould be an excellent choice to approach forhelp.
