Dear friend, As you read this letter, millions of families around the world are living in extreme poverty. Many are struggling to earn a living so do not have enough money to meet their basic needs such as food, housing and clothing. This Lent your school can help to change this. All your little actions will make a really big difference to people living in poverty. Your support will mean that CAFOD partners around the world can train more people like Florence (see below) to set up small businesses and earn a living. With training and support, Florence has created a thriving business selling fish, so she can buy the things her family needs and send her children to school. Not only that, she has taught others in her community how to do the same. So how will your school help Turn little fish into Big fish this Lent? Organise your own fishy fundraiser on or around Lent Fast Day on 10 March. It could be as simple as: Dressing up in fish hats or costumes for the day. Pay to join in. Holding a fish fair with dodge-the-sponge or hook- the-fish games and fish cake sales. ‘Scaling up’ and making the BIGGEST fish you can out of coins. Dear friend,

As you read this letter, millions of families around the world are living in extreme poverty.

It could be as simple as:

Dressing up in fish hats or costumes for the day.

Pay to join in.

Holding a fish fair with dodge-the-sponge or hook-

the-fish games and fish cake sales.

‘Scaling up’and making the BIGGEST fish you

can out of coins.

“I was interested in f sh farming because it’s a business

that I knew would help me to make a living.” FLORENCE, ZAMBIA

Yours faithfully,
