Big data is een (mode)term om aan te duiden dat je veel en snel veranderende gegevens uit meerdere (on)gestructureerde gegevensbronnen haalt en er creatieve gegevensanalyse op toepast. Grootste uitdaging is zinvolle informatie te halen uit de chaos John Naisbitt (1982 ) MegaTrends : “Companies would be overloaded with information, but starved of knowledge”.
