Philippians 2
3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in
humility count others more significant than yourselves. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death
on a cross. 12
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed,
so now, not only as in my presence but much more in
my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling.
Disciples of Jesus Christ are called to be like Him – to
think, view others, and live like “little Christs.” In these
verses from Philippians, Paul calls sisters and brothers in
Christ at Philippi to humility (vs 3) and obedience (vs 12).
But the apostle also is careful to point out that disciples
follow and learn from the One characterized by humble
obedience (vs 8). Might Paul’s emphasis on humble obe-
dience be important as our congregation moves toward
merging with the Main Street congregation on May 1?
North “A” servants
coordinate meals for
our members as
needed.
We are looking for
volunteers to help.
Keep in mind you
will not work alone.
Please contact
Tammy Porter if
you’d like to help.
Thank You!!
