Why was Jesus Deity Necessary?

Jesus was full human but also full deity is important.


• Only God could bear the full penalty for all the sins of all those who would believe in him

• Salvation is from the Lord. All scriptures show that it was impossible for man.

• Only someone who is God and Man who be the mediator between God and Man ( 1 Tim. 2:5)

• If this is not true then we have no salvation and hence no Christianity.

Apollinarianism


• Taught by Apollinaris (A.D. 361)• Christ had a human body but not a human

Monophysitism


Christ had one nature. Human nature of Christ was taken up and absorbed into the divine nature, so both natures were changed somewhat and a third kind of nature resulted.
