Dear well wishers,
At Bharat Calling we are committed towards, empowering rural government schools
by making their access to higher education
We feel proud in saying that from a pilot to project it has become an ideology and
while writing this annual report also there are 100 more associated people will be
speaking of the cause of inclusive education.
In the year 2013-14 we were able to—
1. Reach out to 132 interior rural government schools with our awareness pro-
gram on higher educational opportunities .
2. We were able to motivate 177 teachers in government schools to act as higher
education friend
3. Trained 200 youths in the ideology of Bharat Calling fellows, where they
played a vital role in our core operations.
4. Inspire 3 Bharat Calling fellows to start their own venture
5. We conducted 12 summer camps attended by 310.students
6. We were able to create role models in 36 villages with the light of higher edu-
cation studying in prestigious colleges of India.
7. Replicate our program in 2 more districts of India.
8. Witness our second batch of .rural youths graduating
9. Witness our alumni getting into post graduation
To reach out to more and more students we have developed ouself as youth volun-
teer driven program and our playground includes the rural government schools.
Inspite of the scale we were able to maintain the bonds with the alumni and they
have motivated 100s of students from their knits to higher education . As we say-
“we are the family of rural leaders”.
Of course, no matter how many youths we reach , there are so many we need to
reach out still. With your support we will be able to achieve our mission of creating
role models in 5000 villages of India by 2024. This will be lead to fulfilling of our
vision—every desirable student gets into higher education irrespective of their poor
social, economical and cultural condition.

Showing the world what
can we achieve and aspire
To attend schools they come from kilometers away by bicy-
cle and on foot. Over mountains, through jungles. They
work during vacation to manage expenses. They do what-
ever they have to do to complete schooling, where they can
study and shape their futures.
Bharat Calling, acting as a source of ―Social‖, ―Cultural‖
and ―Economic‖ capital to raise the higher educational aspi-
ration notch higher in the 132 rural higher secondary gov-
ernment schools of Hoshangabad district of Madhya
Pradesh State of India. Initiative works on the concept of
building of psychological well being if one gets into higher
education. Which results in sharpening of aesthetic appre-
ciation, imparting resources for satisfying use of leisure
time, help in the establishment of successful interpersonal
relations and impart knowledge and develop skills and un-
derstanding to help deal with virtually any life’s problem.
On the societal level we see higher education as promoting
tolerance, reducing prejudice, reducing intergroup tensions,
enhancing informed participation in the political process,
and solving of social problems.
We have played transformative context which facilitates
transition from basic and post basic (Higher secondary) edu-
cation into developmental outcomes (essentially a question
of the developed value of education for individuals and for
society in general). We outweigh the professional and socie-
tal emphasis on valuing solely the economic and vocational
utility to individuals to society as a whole.
Bharat Calling was the first to pioneer this ―teach a man to
fish‖ approach. We have a minimal and powerful interac-
tions, amalgamated with the intense follow up mechanism.
We train youths coming across India to act as guide, voy-
ager and torch bearer to raise their aspirational notch higher.
This is a scalable, impactful and inspirational way to reach
out to many. .
Many students have never boarded on trains, interacted with
someone who is from outside their state. Each school is full
of possibility to create leaders in rural areas. Successful in
linking 100s of rural students in higher education we were
able to inspire and motivate the existing system to raise their
aspiration notch higher for the students associated with
them.
“I was leading a mob, now I lead a team”- Rajkumar Gujjar hails
from a communal tense village and now studying forestry at central
university and leading a college team.
We don’t do everything.
We do one thing Other than to do a little of everything, we focus on the students directly to act as decision maker for the
future career. However the sources to connect with the students remains diverse . We follow and inspire
them continuously—
