Why Attend
Envision and Plan for the Future The 2010 education program captures the pulse of the industry
and challenges conventional wisdom to help you think differently
about the way you do business and how to remain successful.
Meet With Your PeersLTC 100 is an elite gathering for 150 senior
level executives from across all segments of
long term care. Many of the most dynamic
players in the industry attend, offering a
valuable opportunity to expand your personal
network during education, social functions and recreation.
Experience a Unique Leadership EventYour experience is driven by the sessions you
attend and the people you meet. When you
return to your organization, you’ll have:
■ Fresh perspectives on your most important priorities
■ Practical ideas that you can implement in your organization
■ Several new peer relationships
■ A renewed vigor as you approach your work
Who Can AttendLTC 100 is exclusively for CEOs, Presidents,
CFOs, COOs, and selected VPs from long
term care organizations with at least $30M in
revenue. This results in a very select, top-level
audience. All three segments of long term care
are invited (SNF/AL/CCRC), both for-profi t and not-for-profi t.
Healthcare reform has dominated the news
and our minds for the past year. No matter
what ends up getting passed, change is inevitable.
The real question is: how will you change?
We need to start looking beyond reform to
what’s next.
Successful organizations survive and thrive only
through constant rethinking and reinvention –
whether it’s changing your business model,
your marketing approach, or the way you defi ne
your strategy.
During this year’s LTC 100, we’re looking for
ways to ‘break out of the box’. How can you
prepare yourself and lead others to manage the
changes headed our way? How can innovation
and continuous improvement become a part
of your organization’s culture? How can you
re-conceive your work so that your company is
better positioned, stronger and more profi table?
LTC 100 offers you a timely opportunity to
explore these questions – and more – with other
long term care executives from the industry’s
most progressive organizations, and thought
leaders from across the country.
No one can guarantee what the long term care
and senior living landscape will ultimately look
like. However, one thing is certain. We will
need to change.
I’m looking forward to hearing the ideas that
come from the collective thinking and talent
of this group as we address everything that’s
happening in long term care.
I hope you can join us at LTC 100 this year.

TRANSITIONAL CARE: REINVENTING THE FUTURE OF LONG TERM CARE
Some analysts are forecasting that in ten years, the most successful providers will no longer be in the
business of long term care, but rather in transitional care between the hospital and home. While most
providers have greatly expanded their rehab capacities in the past decade, only a very small percentage
have made the leap to providing true transitional care.
This workshop will explore the upside of this opportunity and explain the clinical, marketing and capital elements.
You’ll also get a better understanding of the increasingly critical role hospitals will play in your future - what they are
looking for in successful transitional care operators and how to become their preferred provider.

Closing Keynote Session Developing Relationship Savvy Using Your EQ not Your IQEmotional Intelligence counts twice as much as intellect and technical skills combined in creating successful relationships, both personal and professional. Emotional Intelligence (EQ), the ability to manage emotions, is particularly important during times of change when comfortable routines are disrupted, and leadership is required to effectively manage through these challenges.
Leveraging EQ starts by understanding the science of how emotions fuel behaviors, actions, and conversations – your own as well as others’. Increased emotional management helps you outperform competition, improve individual resilience, enhance communication, and generate greater success.
Dr. J.P. Pawliw-Fry will use cutting-edge research and personal stories from the worlds of business and sports to teach you the principles of emotional intelligence - and inspire you to take your career and personal life to the next level. He will give you tools to improve your EQ by: ■ Increasing your awareness of the drivers of high EQ. ■ Enhancing the skills that will help you during times of adversity. ■ Developing empathy, the critical skill that allows you to see beyond behaviors to someone’s true emotions.■ Understanding generational gaps and how the tools of EQ are critical to successfully bridging these gaps.■ Spreading your personal leadership style throughout your organization.
About Dr. J.P. Pawliw-FryAs President and Co-Founder of the Institute for Health and Human Potential, Dr. J.P. Pawliw-Fry is recognized as a world leader in developing unique training programs in Emotional Intelligence to increase
performance and leadership. He now acts as an advisor to numerous Fortune 100 companies and other organizations, including the U.S. Navy, Eli Lilly, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the U.S. Federal Reserve - as well as NHL and NBA teams, and Olympic athletes.
Dr. Pawliw-Fry’s diverse training includes Queen’s University, Harvard Medical School’s Mind Body Medical Institute and the UMASS Medical Center Stress Clinic. His forthcoming book, Leadership Rewired, the New Science of Sustainable Performance, will be published this year.
