President’s C ornerHappy Labor Day, I hope you all had a great summer, but are ready to get back to the track. Event #7 is this coming weekend, Sept. 12-13.

New points of business, . During registration, you’ll get

either a green or a yellow wristband. Green signifies an experienced driver, yellow is for novice drivers. A green band can take anyone with a wristband. A yellow wristband can take a passenger with a green band, but cannot take another yellow.

Next, GCAC is putting on its own autocross school on October 31st, limited to 20 students. Participation in the school includes a free fun day on Sunday, November 1st. The registration form is in this newsletter. Cost is $125/student and includes meals both days. We will be using some paid guest instructors as well as our usual team of talented member instructors. There will be three sections of training, and data logging will be used on the main course. You may fill out the form and bring it this weekend, or you may mail it to me at the address on the form.

I have not yet designed Sunday’s course, but my Z06 is still dead, so likely no Corvette course. :)

We hope you’ll join us for our first ever GCAC Advanced Driving School. You will receive 1-on-1 instruction from some of the top drivers at GCAC. You will rotate through 3 stations during the day. 1 course with data logging, in addition to slalom and sweeper practice stations. 20 students max.

Tuition is $125, and includes a hot lunch and event T-Shirt. Additionally, you’ll be entitled to join us on Sunday, November 1st for a full-course fun day.

You may register up to the day of the school, but we need a minimum of 10 students

2015 Trophy RulesGulfcoast Autocrossers, LTD

1. The 2015 season will consist of ten events held at Buckingham

Airfield.

2. To qualify for year-end class champion, the following

requirements must be met:

a. Must compete in at least eight events in the 2015

series.

b. Must compete in at least eight events in the same

car class.

3. At the end of the series, a class champion award will be given

to the person with the most points in the class, based on the

following:

a. Points from the best eight of ten events will be

counted

b. In the event of a tie, the ninth event will determine

the tie breaker.

4. All results and class designations will be final at the end of

each event.

5. Points cannot be

transferred from

one class to

another class.

responsibility to

know what class

they belong in)

Mufflers RequiredMufflers with baffles are required to keep your car at a reasonable sound level. The people who live around the site have to listen to us for 2 days. If our neighbors start complaining we could lose the site. Do you want to be the person responsible for this??

Numbers must be readable and correct. We follow SCCA standards when it comes to numbering standards. Your numbers should be a minimum of 8” tall, with a bold stroke, no less than 1.25” thick. Class letters must be a minimum of 4” tall with a 0.75” stroke. Additionally, the colors selected should be of high-contrast as compared to your car color. They should be easily readable from the timing and scoring RV.

Shoe polish and tape numbers ARE NOT PERMITTED. You must have your car number, and class letters installed, before tech inspection. Paper numbers and class letters are available for sale in the tech area.
