Peacocks, the UK’s hottest value fashion retailer is delighted to announce the launch of Pearl Lowe for Peacocks, a range of girl’s party dresses for Christmas 2011. The collaboration will mark Pearl’s first foray into children’s fashion for which she has taken inspiration from her daughter Betty who is fast gaining recognition as one of Britain’s youngest trend setters. Five year old Betty Lowe is sister to fashion icon Daisy Lowe, and the youngest of Pearl’s four children. Having grown up immersed in the world of fashion and music (her father is Supergrass drummer, Danny Goffey), from as early on as two years, she started to show a love for the family’s trademark vintage style. Pearl’s ‘Betty’ collection of four party pieces have been designed by Pearl Lowe, with a helping hand from her daughter who selected her favourite vintage dresses from her own wardrobe and as showcased on her extensive antique doll collection. The cream lace dress was inspired by the dress Betty wore as flower girl to her aunt’s wedding in 2009 and the red velvet dress was taken from her favourite story, Little Red Riding Hood. Pearl who is currently celebrating her seventh successful women’s collection for Peacocks, used her experience to translate traditional style notes for the modern high street market. The Pearl Lowe children’s dresses for Peacocks will launch in selected Peacocks’ stores and online in 10

th November 2011, priced between £25 and £30, available from age two to eight. Each dress

features classic vintage touches, including floral corsages and frills using ornate velvet and lace. Pearl Lowe said: “I’m so proud to be introducing my first children’s collection for Peacocks. Vintage is increasingly harder to find these days and I wanted to design a collection that celebrated traditional style, was affordable and perfect for little girl’s parties.” Pearl continued: “Since she was two years old, Betty has been asking Daisy and I to keep our vintage dresses for her to wear when she’s older, which is why I’ve interpreted her favourite elements for the high street.” Sarah Colman, Peacocks’ Senior Buyer for Childrenswear said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer our customers designer fashion for children at great value and quality. Pearl’s collections for Peacocks have been a huge hit, and we’re looking forward to our younger customers enjoying wearing beautiful party dresses inspired by Betty over the party season.”
