INTRODUCTION
Welcome to a new season of “Better Together: Home Groups” at Christ Church Santa Fe. Home groups are a wonderful way to get to know people at Christ Church and to share life together. Experienced “home groupers” tell us that their experience in these groups is rich and rewarding, that they are “Better To-gether” as they walk their Christian walk. Our groups meet on different nights, at different locations all over Santa Fe. Hopefully you will find one that is close and convenient.
In this booklet you’ll find descriptions for seven home groups that have open-ings for new members. Please read the page for each group, and when you have decided on a group you would like to join, either call or email the leader. They will be able to answer any questions you might have and get you in-volved as soon as possible.
We’ll have sign-ups for home groups several times per year and each period you will have the opportunity to stay with your current group or branch out and join up with another group of folks. It’s all up to you!
We look forward to how God will continue to use our home groups to help us love and serve one another, as well as grow in our relationship with Him. Make this your year of “Better Together” in a Home Group!

Randy is a retired agricultural scientist and Mar-garet works part-time as a senior caregiver. They have two adult sons, neither married. They have lived in Santa Fe 5+ years after many years in St Louis, MO. Margaret met Martin Ban while she attended Covenant Seminary in St Louis, and that led them to attend Christ Church after their move to Santa Fe. They enjoy hiking/backpacking, trav-eling, reading (almost anything), movies, playing games and being with friends.
What night will you meet: Open to group’s direction, but we’ve found Sunday evening to be convenient
How Often: Twice/Month or Monthly, depending on group’s direction
Where will you meet: Start at our house, but would seek volunteers to share hosting responsi-bilities. Our Address: 1 Sunrise Vista, 87056 (Las Campanas area)
What will your First Study be: Open to suggestions, we’ve found video series to be great for the home group setting, or we could discuss the sermon that morning using study guides pro-vided by the speaker

Charles and Jessica Clark fell in love in New Zea-land, served together in the Peace Corps in Tanza-nia, and have had many adventures in many states in their 13 years together. They are very much in love and are loving their next grand adventure...parenthood with new baby Charlotte who was born on July 3rd. Charles loves the outdoors, great Romantics in history, and his wife. Jessica loves taking care of children, photography, and her hus-band. They came to Santa Fe for Charles’s job with the Forest Service.

Larry and Fran moved to Santa Fe in 2013. They moved here from a small seaside fishing vil-lage called Westport MA. Fran is a retired nurse and Larry is a retired Prof. of Accounting and Finance. They each love gardening and the outdoors and find the climate here in Santa Fe ideal. After visiting several churches in the area CCSF won hands down.
What night will you meet: First Sunday of every month

Where will you meet: We will meet at various homes and at CCSF
What will your First Study be: We will study various books in the Bible

Ken and Lleta have been in Santa Fe 13 years moving here from Dallas. Ken and Lleta both have been involved in commercial real estate for over 30 years. Ken is an outdoorsman enjoying hunt-ing, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Lleta was the first Executive Director of the Santa Fe Railyard Community Corp. and oversaw the development of the Railyard. She continues to serve on the board. Lleta is also a member of Rotary and enjoys gardening and her piano in her spare time.

What will your First Study be: The Bible’s timeless call to impact culture
Filmed on location in Isarel, Faith lessons is an in depth video tour of the buried,distant, or oth-erwise forgotten places where the stories of the Bible actually happened. From this cultural perspective teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan challenges long-held Western assumptions about even the most well known Scripture passages. The result? Each of us will simply never read the Bible the same again.

Mike & Kathy Hughes
Mike and Kathy have lived in Santa Fe since 2010 after moving from South Carolina. We “church shopped” for almost two years wandering as far as White Rock before we discovered Christ Church Santa Fe. I remember after attending our first wor-ship service, I just sat in the car for a bit as tears of joy rolled down my face. Our group is a terrific mixture of new comers and long timers; and there is no such thing as a stranger. Our meetings typi-cally begin with 30 minutes of social time with heavy hors d’oeuvres and beverages of choice. After that we have a 30-45 minute study period.
What night will you meet: Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM
How Often: We try to meet monthly and sometimes adjourn during the summer months. We are flexible with rearranging dates depending on whether things are going on at the church on the night we are supposed to meet as well as whether we will have “critical mass” to meet
Where will you meet: We rotate and meet at various group members’ homes. Group Members live primarily in Northwest Santa Fe (599/Camino La Tierra/Las Campanas areas.)
What will your First Study be: We just finished group study of “Respectable Sins, Confronting the Sins We Tolerate” by Jerry Bridges. It provided for many lively and engaging sessions! We are now (May 2016) looking to what we will take up next.

Christopher Bayly &Carol Taylor
We have been in Santa Fe (and at CCSF) for more than four years now… and lovin’ it. Our two adult children remained in Canada, while our youngest is with us here. Christopher still works 9-to-5 as a research scientist, while Carol pursues her love of the great outdoors as a hiking tour guide. Small groups have been a big part of our lives for many years; our current group began as a result of the Lenten series last year. We look forward to being part of the new small groups network at CCSF.
What night will you meet: Wednesday
How Often: Biweekly, alternate Wednesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 PM

What will your First Study be: We currently are studying Tim Keller’s The Reason For God, in a video/discussion format.

LLS (Ladies Living Solo) Bible Study is a group designed to meet the Bible Study needs of single woman of any age. We feel this is a venue where woman can share ideas and biblical concepts in a comfortable environment of love and friendship.

Terra & Andrew Shewmaker
Terra and Andrew Shewmaker have attended Christ Church for nearly a year, having moved to NM in June 2015. Andrew works at “The Lab” and Terra wrangles their two girls (Luci Glenn and Kate). In their free time you will find the family rolling down the hill in their back yard, making pretend and real pancakes, and having dance par-ties in the kitchen. They are looking forward to a year of fellowship and fun with their Christ Church family.
What night will you meet: Thursday’s at 5:45 PM.
We will begin September 1st and will host a kick off ice cream social on August 27th at 4:00 PM. Please bring your favorite ice cream topping and drinks for your family. Ice cream, bowls, and spoons provided.

What will your First Study be: We will study the scripture associated with the previous week sermon
Child Care: Children are welcome and we would like to investigate hiring a sitter in the future after we determine who will be attending

Tom Wright & Sylvia Sims
Tom Wright and Sylvia Sims have lived in Santa Fe since their marriage in 2000. They have been members of CCSF since 2004. Tom is involved in missions work; Sylvia is the Ministry Coordinator for the church. Their home is located in the Hwy 14 corridor, south of town. This group will be easily accessible for those living south and west of Santa Fe.
What night will you meet: One Sunday Evening per Month at 5:00 PM
How Often: Once per month
Where will you meet: The initial meeting will be at Tom and Sylvia’s home, 13 Rons Road. After that, members will share hosting at their homes
What will your First Study be: We will determine when the group gathers for the first time. The intent is that we delve deeply into what we believe through scripture study and discussion. And, of course, there’s a healthy dose of Christian fellowship.

The gift of spiritual girl friendship! Small groups meet weekly & grow together as true friends in Christ. Sacred Companions by David G. Benner shall be discussed. Sign up for new groups now forming. Contact Karen Lansing.
If you love praising the Lord with your voice, you may want to consider joining the chorale. They rehearse from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on the following dates. September 14 and 28, October 12 and 26, November 9 and 23, and December 14. The chorale performs on some Sunday mornings throughout the year; very often they are part of the holiday services.
