VIII. Finance

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the following finance action items A through J:

A. Claims Auditor’s Report – It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the Claims Auditor’s Report for the month of March 2015.

B. Treasurer’s Report, Budget Status Reports, Food Service Report and Extra-Classroom Activity Reports – It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the Treasurer’s Report for the month of March 2015, Budget Status Reports, the Food Service Report, and Extra-Classroom Activity Reports for period ending March 31, 2015.

C. Accept Donation – It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the donation made by the

BCMS Garden Club, Delmar Farmers’ Market and BCMS PTO for the purchase of a composting unit for the Middle School cafeteria. The funds will be accounted for within the Special Aid Fund, therefore no budget amendment is needed.

D. Accept Donation – It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the donation made by the Delmar Kiwanis Club. Funds will be used by the BCMS Helping Hands Club to help support a field trip to Plymouth on June 7, 2015. The funds will be accounted for within the Trust and Agency Fund, therefore no budget amendment is needed.

E. Accept Donation and Approve Budget Amendment – It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the donation made by the Special Olympics New York, Inc., to be used to support the Unified Sports Program and amend the 2014-15 budget, as per attached.

F. Appointment of Election Inspectors – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the attached list of Election Inspectors for the May 19, 2015, budget and candidate vote, and that the District Clerk be authorized to fill any vacancies which may occur between now and the vote.

G. Appointment of Chief Election Inspector and Election Chairperson – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the appointment of Judith Kehoe as the Chief Election Inspector and Election Chairperson for the May 19, 2015, budget and candidate vote.

H. Approve Questar III Fund Surplus Resolution – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the attached Fund Surplus Resolution Agreement and Release and authorize the President of the Board of Education to sign two copies of resolution and return signed resolution to Questar III.

I. Tax Freeze Efficiency Plan – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the District Tax Freeze Efficiency Plan for submission to the Department of Budget, as per attached.

J. Authorize Transportation Trip Rates – It is recommended that the Board of Education authorize the District Transportation Department to provide transportation services, effective July 1, 2015 and ending on June 30, 2016. The District will be reimbursed for the cost at the following rates:

School-based groups: Booster paid trips and self-

funded field trips

Non-school-based organizations (Town of Bethlehem, School’s Out,

private-parochial, & misc. use)

Hourly Labor Rate $25 $45

Per Mile Rate $1.50 $2.50

C. Bethlehem Central High School’s Proposed Trip to South Africa – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the proposed trip to South Africa, slated for April 2017.

D. Bethlehem Central High School’s Proposed Trip to England and Scotland – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the proposed trip to England and Scotland, slated for April 2018.

E. Bethlehem Central High School’s Proposed Trip to Costa Rica – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the proposed trip to Costa Rica, slated for April 2019.

F. Bethlehem Central High School’s Proposed Trip to France – It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the proposed trip to France, slated for April 2020.
