Murray Scholarship. The Captain William O. Murray Scholarship is awarded by the QRCF to a student who exhibits a strong commitment to civic and community service. Each scholarship recipient will be awarded $2,000 per year for four years. The scholarship is based on a combination of financial need, academics, school involvement, and community service. Experience the Quiet Resorts as you never have before at the Annual Fire & Ice Festival! New this year, the festival will expand outside of Bethany Beach, stretching down Route 26 all the way to Millville!
The Fire & Ice Festival will kick off on Sunday, January 19th from 1-4 pm at Bethany Blues with a Drink Tasting Competition! Each restaurant will create a signature drink to be entered into the competition for a chance to be named the Fire & Ice “Out of This World” Drink Competition Winner!

Caribbean ChristmasJoin Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation at Mango’s for Caribbean Christmas! Fabulous local art and great gifts donated by local artists, businesses, and individuals along with food and drinks! Sample tastings from local restaurants, wine, beer, and mango margaritas all included with ticket! Admission is $65 per person. Proceeds benefit QRCF, which provides grants and scholarships to improve life in our community as well as grants to this year’s featured beneficiary, The Center of the Inland Bays. This year will also feature a clothing drive for the Boys & Girls Club of Dagsboro. Please bring kids and adult size hats, gloves, and sweatshirts to be collected and donated to the Boys & Girls Club. On Tuesday, November 26th, Senator Tom Carper and representatives from the Small Business Administration joined the Chamber to visit a few of our members and discuss Small Business Saturday. 1. Bethany Beach Books2. Tangerine Goods Bethany Beach, LLC3. Su Casa Bethany Beach
To help the Federal Reserve better understand issues associated with credit, they are con-ducting a Small Business Credit Survey for both pre-start and existing busi-nesses. The Federal Reserve requests taking the time to complete the survey. The questions are best answered by an owner or a key financial decision maker. The survey highlights the experiences of small business and provides critical information that service provides, policy makers, and lenders use to improve programs for small business owners.

FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS Legislation that would effect a
substantial percentage of small businesses in our country was reintroduced in the current Congress, the Main Street Tax Certainty Act of 2019. This bill would make the 20 percent tax deduction for qualified business income permanent. Currently, that deduction, which was a part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, expires in 2025. In the House, the legislation is H.R. 216, sponsored by Representative Jason Smith (R-MO, 8). In the Senate, the legislation is S. 1149, sponsored by Senator Steve Daines (R-MT).
Currently, the House version is in the House Ways and Means Committee, and the Senate version remains in the Senate Finance Committee. Contact Senator Carper, Senator Coons, and Congresswoman Blunt-Rochester to express your opinion!
Benefits Connection has partnered with Aetna to introduce their new Affinity program to Delaware businesses. This Healthcare plan will be available to members 12/1/19. At this time, due to Delaware regulations and approval, it is available for groups with 6 to 100 employees.
