TRANSCRIPT

Having a cluttered background can draw focus away from your subject. Zooming in and having a clear and simple background will lure the viewer to your subject as there’s nothing to distract them.

Having lines that lead to your subject will attract the viewer’s attention to the main focus of the photo.

A good picture will have the subject in the left or right thirds of the photo, or overlap two sections of the thirds, instead of dead in the middle.

An unbalanced picture will look lopsided, while a balanced picture will either have two objects on either side of the picture (one in the background, one in the foreground) or have two contrasted ideas (such as light and dark).

Having your subject framed by other objects can help attract it as the main focus of the picture.
