Betting Terms Used In This Guide Betting terms used by bookmakers differs and some bettors in Europe might refer to a certain thing differently from those bettors in the US and also in Asia. Please take note that there are two kinds of odds in all betting line. They are the handicap odds and the money return odds. So even if you are betting on any kind of betting line, for fixed odds, they will have the fixed odds and the money return odds too and if you are betting total goal over or under, they will have the over and under odds and also the money return odds. Every bets place differs in the return. It will depend on the money return odds at the time you place the bets. So if you place a bet on team with handicap -1/4 and the money return odds is 0.90, you will get back $90 for every $100 bet. To make sure that all of us are on the same term, I will list down some of the terms I used in this book here and what it means. 1 - Giving Handicap refers to the team offering handicap to the other team. 2 Receiving handicap refers to the team receiving the handicap from the giving handicap team. Any HOME team receiving handicap will have the + plus sign in front of the odds 3 - Opening odds refers to the odds at the time bookmakers open in their betting line. 4 - Closing odds refers to the odds at the time of closing just before the game start. 5 - Downward movement for money return odds refers to the money odds movement.

with Asian handicap and go straight to page 9 for the strategy to Bet on Draw.

Understanding Asian Handicap What is Asian Handicap and why it is now the most preferred method of betting if you are doing football or football betting? Many bookmakers offer Asian Handicap Markets as an alternative to the traditional 1X2 betting markets. If you take your betting seriously, you should include or develop Asian Handicaps into your betting strategies and explore using it as a viable alternative to 1X2 betting

Background and History A little knowledge about the history of Asian Handicaps (AH) will help you appreciate the basis of its existence, and therefore help you understand its intricacies.

Although AH have been slowly introduced by bookmakers over the past 5 years, it has been in existence in Asia for more than a decade and is still the predominant betting market for football betting in most parts of Far East Asia (particularly in Singapore, Hong Kong/China and Malaysia).

It can be argued that football is, and has been, the most popular televised team sport in Far East Asia over the last decade.

Unfortunately, there were no avenues for legalized football gambling in many far eastern countries a decade ago. Bettors who were good at predicting football matches realized they could make a lot of money through betting amongst friends, on a peer-to-peer basis or through a syndicate.

In such an environment, bettors who act as bookmakers would then have to offer a betting system and odds for each match to other bettors.

  • Bet On Draw

    Copyright 2010 www.betondraw.com 5

Bearing in mind that anyone could then act as a bookmaker in the market, a 1X2 betting system would be difficult to implement as most bettors do not have the mathematical skills to derive 1X2 3-way odds.

Try asking the man in the street to figure out converting percentages to fractional odds without the aid of a tool! Its difficult! It was also difficult to get 1X2 odds from foreign bookmakers to use as a market guide as online-betting sites were non-existent at that time.

A betting system of giving or taking handicaps, on the other hand, was seen as a graceful solution that even the common bettor in the street could understand.

There was also no need to derive complicated odds in the handicap system as the principle of the system is to give the 2 teams an equal chance to win using their respective handicaps.

The odds should, therefore, be evens assuming the correct handicaps have been assigned.

How does it work? A handicap is assigned to each team in a match. The bettor chooses which team to bet on using the offered handicaps. At the end of the match, the handicap is added to the team that the bettor has backed, and the bet is settled.

Lets look at the following Asian Handicap line offered by a bookmaker:

    Manchester United vs. Liverpool.

    Manchester United Handicap = -0.5, odds = 2.1

    Liverpool Handicap = +0.5, odds = 1.9

The final score of this match is Manchester United 0:0 Liverpool.

If the bettor bets on Manchester United, the handicap of -0.5 is added to the final Manchester United score, making the final score including the handicap -0.5:0. This means that Manchester United loses through the handicap and the bettor loses his bet.

If the bettor bets on Liverpool, the handicap of +0.5 is added to the final Liverpool score, making the final score including the handicap 0:+0.5. This means that Liverpool wins through the handicap and the bettor wins

his bet. The return for the bet is calculated using the offered odds, which is 1.9 (decimal) in this example.

    What Handicaps are offered by bookmakers? Common handicaps are 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3, 3.25, 3.5

What happens if the result is a draw after adding the handicap to the final result?

This is a special case that can happen when the handicap taken by the bettor is a whole number (e.g. 0, 1, 2, 3). Lets take a look at an example using the same fixture:

    Manchester United Handicap = -1, odds = 2.1

    Liverpool Handicap = +1, odds = 1.9

The final score of this match is Manchester United 1:0 Liverpool.

After adding the handicap, the result of this match will be a draw; 0:0 if the bettor backs Manchester United or 1:1 if the bettor backs Liverpool. For such situations where including the handicap into the final score results in a draw, the stake is returned to the bettor.

Ive seen handicaps such as 0.25, 1.25, 0.75 or (0, 0.5). How does that work?

This is a recent innovation in the traditional Asian Handicap market. The following handicaps in the table below are equivalent. They are represented in different formats as a result of the different preferences of the Hong Kong/China and Singaporean/Malaysian betting industry and community.

    (0, 0.5) 0.25

  • Bet On Draw

    Copyright 2010 www.betondraw.com 7

    (0.5, 1) 0.75 (1, 1.5) 1.25 (1.5, 2) 1.75 (2, 2.5) 2.25

The left column of the table gives a clue on how this handicap works. When you back a team using (0, 0.5) handicap, you are effectively splitting your stake by betting half on the 0 handicap, and half on the 0.5 handicap. Lets take a look at an example featuring the same 2 teams:

    Manchester United Handicap = -0.25, odds = 2.1

    Liverpool Handicap = +0.25, odds = 1.9

The final score of this match is Manchester United 0:0 Liverpool.

The bettor has bet $50 on Liverpool +0.25. To calculate the winnings or losses, we split the handicap and the stakes into two separate bets:

    1. Liverpool Handicap = 0, odds = 1.9, stake = $25; 2. Liverpool Handicap = +0.5, odds = 1.9, stake = $25.

For the first bet, the final score including the handicap is still 0:0, and therefore the stake of $25 is returned to the bettor. For the second bet, the final score including the handicap is 0:0.5, and therefore the returns for this bet is 1.9 $25 = $47.5

The total returns for this bet is therefore $25 (from bet 1) + $47.5 (from bet 2) = $72.5

What are the advantages of using Asian Handicaps over the traditional 1X2 market?

A traditional 1X2 market for a football match is a 3-way bet, whereas by using Asian Handicaps this is reduced to a 2-way bet.

This means that bettors should theoretically have a higher chance of winning their bets, thereby allowing them to bet on matches they would usually avoid in the 1X2 market.

The amount of profit margin assigned by a bookmaker to an Asian Handicap book is also usually less than that assigned to a 1X2 book.

Therefore, the bettor is more likely to get fairer odds through using Asian Handicaps as opposed to the 1X2 market.

In some circumstances, the Asian handicap allows you to get your stake back. Take Chelsea are playing Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, for example. Villa, as the underdogs, may be awarded a +1 goal start. Lets say you back Villa at 9/10. If they win or draw the game, your bet pays out, as youve won on the handicap. If, however, Villa lose by only a single goal (thereby equaling the handicap), you get back your stake. You only lose if Villa lost the game by two goals or more.

This is clearly an advantage: Asian handicaps sometimes give you a safety net of getting your stake back.

Bet On Draw There are many ways that you can use to predict a draw game but most of them is very complex to use and some even just predict a draw game base on feelings. Along my many years of betting on the football market, I have only derived one method to predict a draw game and not most games will end up in a draw. So this strategy can only be used on certain handicap that the game offers. Theres a lot of money that you can make once you know how to really use this handicap to your advantage. If the game is going to end up in a draw, you can even bet on the receiving handicap and even lay the giving handicap team. So you can actually bet on three things with strategy:

    1) You bet on draw on 1X2 2) You bet on accepting handicap on Asian handicap 3) You lay the giving handicap team

There is only one trend to look out for. You will only need to look out for any games that have an OPENING HANDICAP of 0.25 (1/4) You need to be discipline if you want to win money and this is the easiest way to have a 80% definite DRAW SKIP anything that is not in this guide I use www.footballsupertips.com/livescore to do all my monitoring for the odds and money movement.

  • Bet On Draw

You can see all the games for that day if you click on the small ball on the right hand side of every match, it will open up a new window and you can now see all the movement for that particular match opening odds plus money return odds until the time it close.

  • Bet On Draw

Short Note: There is only one type of movement that system applies. I will explain the movement in the section below. You can monitor the movements slightly before the game start or even 30 minutes to 1 hour before the game start. The chart that you are using will already mark for you the earlier movements so you just need to identify those games, take note of those games and then come back before the game start and place your bets. The strategy that I am going to lay for you are all based on technical analysis odds movement and money movement and it has nothing to do with probability. These are like forex and commodity trading. All are based on money movement. Nothing you need to know about team news or even injury report as those has already been done for you by the bookmakers. Everything that you need to know is all in the money movement and odds movement. Trust me in this because I have been there.

    Rules Using This System

    1. The opening odds must open at or some prefer to call it 0.25. This is the

Asian handicap odds. I am taking the opening odds based on Asian handicap. So if you are not familiar with asian handicap, I suggest you refer to the earlier chapter on Asian handicap and understand it first before applying the system.

    2. The odds must open at 0.25 and remains the same throughout until before the game start.

    3. When there is a up or a down movement in the odds in between until before closing, for example from 0.25 to 0 or from 0.25 to 0.5 or from 0 to 0.25, please SKIP this match.

    4. You cannot use this strategy if the odds open at 0 and goes up to 0.25 or if the odds opens at 0.5 and goes down to 0.25

    5. The total opening money value must be the same as the total money value during closing. This is very important.

    6. Value range that we can apply this system must be between o.80 to 1.05. ( 0.80 being the lowest range and 1.05 being the highest possible value)

    7. Any value that is not in this range, please skip. ( For example the value drops to 0.68 or goes up to 1.18 which is not in the recommended range)

    8. Skip this strategy for match that dont have the same total value for opening odds and closing odds You add the home and the away team money value at opening and compare to the closing. If they are the same value. For example it opens at 1.82 and close at 1.88, you have to skip this game. They must be the same before you can apply this system.

    9. On the opening money value, there must be an upward movement. For example, the game open with a money value of 0.85 and then it went up to 0.95. it must have an upward movement.

    10. Skip if there is a downward movement in the money value. For example, it opens at 1.00 and close at 0.90.

Bet On Draw Strategy There is only one movement that we will be looking for. Please see through carefully and apply them only when you see the trend mentioned. Important: You will see 4 columns in each of the examples. The HOME Team is always on the left hand side and the AWAY Team is always on the right. In between the Home and AWAY Team is the Handicap offered for that particular game. We will ONLY look out for 1 ball handicap The last column is the time. You will see 2 types of 1/4 ball handicap when you look out for the matches. When the handicap has only (1/4) as the value, it means that the HOME team is the team GIVING the handicap. When the handicap has (+1) as the value, it means that the AWAY team is the team GIVING the handicap. In another words, the HOME team is the team RECEIVING handicap. You have to understand this before you choose your games to bet and dont get confuse between these two. Youll get the hang of it after a few examples. I will show you 3 examples below with the last one is an example of when to skip the game for draw. Take a look at the 1st example below.

  • Bet On Draw

    Copyright 2010 www.betondraw.com 14

As you can see, the total opening odds is 0.92 + 0.9 = 1.82 and the total closing odds is 1.02 + 0.8 = 1.82. The opening and closing odds are equal. We have met the first requirement the total opening and total closing must be the same. We then look if is has an upward movement. You can see from the opening value of 0.92, it closed above o.92. It closed at 1.02. So we also met the second requirement. We can bet on DRAW for this game. You can also bet on the away team +0.25 on Asian handicap and also to LAY the home team if you want. This game ended 2 -2

Take a look at the 2nd example below.

  • Bet On Draw

    Copyright 2010 www.betondraw.com 15

  • Bet On Draw

    Copyright 2010 www.betondraw.com 16

As you can see, the total opening odds is 0.92 + 0.96 = 1.88 and the total closing odds is 1.03 + 0.85 = 1.88. The opening and closing odds are equal. We have met the first requirement the total opening and total closing must be the same. We then look if is has an upward movement. You can see from the opening value of 0.92 and it closed above o.92. It closed at 1.03. So we also met the second requirement. We can bet on DRAW for this game. You can also bet on the away team +0.25 on Asian handicap and also to LAY the home team if you want. This game ended 0-0

The 3rd example is a scenario where you have to skip. This system will not work if the total opening odds and the total closing odds is not the same. See example below.

  • Bet On Draw

There are 3 types of bet that you can place using this system. Besides only placing the DRAW bet, you can also bet on +0.25 on Asian handicap and also LAY the giving handicap team. You have to follow the rules for this system to work. If there are any other things that are not mentioned in this guide, please skip the game. If theres anything that you are not clear about the system that I have laid here, please email to me at [email protected] and I will try to answer anything to my best ability.
