Gale Tinsman, Ash Flat MHPP, and Kevin Atkinson, Searcy MHPP, are now LAC’s!Interns and MHPP’s, Amanda Collins from Osceola, graduates on May 15th with her Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from UALR and also from UALR, Jonesboro’s Jennifer Peaster will graduate with a Masters in Social Work; Debbie mays and Audrey Dobbins, from Jonesboro are graduating and will soon be LAC’s. Jonesboro Intern, Caleigh Catt, in addition to other awards, received the Arkansas State University Depart-ment of Social Work Most Outstanding Student Award by the teachers and the same award by the students!Jonesboro therapist mandy Smith, MHPP’s Christa eldridge and Caleigh Catt, have been appointed to the traveling team of non-profit organization, Special Quest.

Jacksonville and Searcy therapists, Kim Tullos, Lori Warhurst, Helen Shirron, Robert Channing, Suzi eudaly, and Clinical Supervisor Andrea Stiles, and Jonesboro therapist Laura needham-Puckett all partici-pated in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Training, utilized with any child who has witnessed or endured a type of trauma. This was in conjunction with the Child Advocacy Centers we serve.

Paul Swymn, Mental Health Paraprofessional in the Ash Flat clinic, was selected for the 4th Quarter Above and Beyond Award as he was nominated by two different individuals. Quality Assurance Officer, Anna Gatlin, made the nomination based on “Paul is a very dedicated MHPP. He has developed an activity program to use with his clients that develops social skills and life skills. He has been instrumental in beginning communication with the Highland School District to once again allow us in to see our clients. He works very closely with his assigned MHP’s in assisting clients to meet their treatment goals.” Ash Flat therapist, Justin Tedesco said of Paul, “he spends extra time with clients, involves them in activities, and goes beyond what he can bill. I have never seen a more productive MHPP who makes more of a difference in clients.”

melinda Wallis, Ash Flat MHPP, has been named Court Liaison and has the responsibility of Sharp, Izard and Fulton Counties’ juvenile court system.Kriste Bryant, Ash Flat Administrative Assistant, is now a MH Paraprofessional and Jacksonville AA Debbie Schalk is now Clinical Assistant.Two graduate level interns in Jonesboro, Caleigh Catt and Ashley Dabbs are also now serving as MHPP’s.Two of our undergraduate interns have completed training and are now MHPP’s: erica Dunlap in Pocahontas and Candice Doan in Searcy.April Gray, RN, Osceola MHPP, is now a therapist. Also in Osceola, Administrative Assistant, Kim Routledge is transferring to MHPP, Clinical Assistant meshia Clark is switching to Administrative Assistant, and a new CA will be joining soon.

Due to the leadership of Tonya Wright, Medical Records Administrative Assistant, $1875 was raised for the March of Dimes!!! Thank you for those that donated $, purchased shirts, participated in the silent auction and lunches. A special THANKS to Tonya for all of her hard work!

School-Based Services are proud to announce the addition of a new contract with South Mississippi County School District. Way to go Osceola staff for doing such a good job marketing the STAR program for Families, Inc. Also a very big pat on the back goes to Ash Flat’s Paul Swymn and Clinical Supervisor, Shawn Dennis, for paving the way for Families, Inc. to re-enter the Highland School District. Restoring a trusting relationship takes a great deal of perserverance and hard work. And, a message received: “I would like to introduce myself to you...My name is Karen James and I am the Director at the Wade Knox Children’s Advocacy Center. I began in this position in January 2009. I have been so honored to work with Families Inc. in Searcy and now Jacksonville. I have also enjoyed getting to know Kim Tullos and Lori Warhurst. They are outstanding and work so well with the children that we serve. They truly have such a depth of heart and compassion to provide the best possible services to the victims. I applaud them for all that they do and how they serve our children. They are simply the BEST. I also have the opportunity to work with Andrea Stiles. She is so willing to work with the Center and ensure that our children are served appropriately in ever aspect. What an AWESOME team that you all have in Searcy and Jacksonville.” THAnK yOu to ALL!
