A great workplace has the following characteristics 1. Individual Differences : It allows the individuals to be themselves and work accordingly and individual differences are nurtured and valued 2. Flow of Information : It ensures that there is transparency in flow of information 3. Employee Development : It invests in its people and adds value to the people who are working for the company 4. Rewarding Work: It makes sure that every individual knows how his work makes sense for the overall organization and the work is intrinsically rewarding for the employee. 5. Shared Vision: It instills a shared sense of vision in its employees that the work that the organization is doing is really meaningful and good for the society. 6. Rules :It makes rules which seem rational to every employee A company can check attrition by the following: 1. Exit Interviews Feedback: We can look at the feedback received from the employees and come to know the specific reasons the employees feel why they are leaving. 2. Management: Employing better management techniques rather than coming hard at employees to get results leads to a more motivated workforce and hence lower attrition. 3. Benchmarking Compensation: We should try benchmarking the compensation with organizations which have similar strategy ( Cost leader or differentiator) 4. Transparent Communication: Employees leave the organization due to rumors of layoffs or other things, so it is imperative that transparent information flow is maintained between management and employees. 5. Good Work Environment : Bad working environment in terms of basic amenities can lead to attrition specially among the staff level employees.
