Mickey Mantle is best known for is excellent ability at switch-hitting. He is also named one of the best players of all time. The town of Johnson City was named after the Johnson family, because of their farm and ranch. Lyndon's father was a rancher and part-time politician. During Johnson’s presidency he faced many issues. The African American race was still being treating very poorly. Everyday they face living in slum houses in the North. Terrible treatment in schools, grocery stores, and even hospitals. America was also at war with Viet Nam during Lyndon's presidency. They were not getting what the president had promised. The economy was not at its best there was a wide scale regions of depression, rural poverty across the nation and, much needed aid to education. During Johnsons presidency he helped improve all of these. When he left office, their was talks of peace talks with Vietnam. He did not live to see them successful, but died suddenly of a heart attack at his Texas ranch on January 22, 1973.
