Miromar Lakes was selected after 241 anonymous on-site visits by independent evaluators to master planned communities in the Southeastern United States. In the formal review evaluators wrote, “Miromar Lakes is a neighborhood where Europe meets South Beach modernism. Italian-style bridges and tall Royal Palm trees compliment the beauty of this gated Florida lake community. After visitors pass through the grandiose entrance gate, they’re greeted by white sandy beaches and beach cabanas draped in white fabric. The opening of the new Marina on the Peninsula brought hundreds of residents, local dignitaries and invited guests to the nautical themed celebration! The event included the ceremonial boat christening of “La Dolce Vita”, the European-style water taxi and the unveiling of the commissioned signature sculpture “Dare to be,” a kinetic work of art set in motion by the wind created by nationally renowned artist Barton Rubenstein. Miromar Lakes has 8 fully furnished model homes by various builders available for interested buyers to see. Tour the models new for 2014 in Ravenna, Portofi no, Murano, Navona and Porto Romano. Inventory homes are available now for immediate purchase.

The fi rst fully furnished model homes are now open in Navona on the Peninsula. The Building Industry Association honored two Miromar Lakes’ model homes with the Superior Home Award, the highest level awarded in the 2014 Parade of Homes. Gulfshore Homes received7 distinctions including the Superior Home Award for its model home in the Ravenna neighborhood on the Peninsula at Miromar Lakes. The Ravenna model was also recognized Best Exterior, Best Interior Design, Best Livability, Best Outdoor Living, Best Kitchen, and Best Bath. It was another record breaking year of generosity in support of children at the Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest. The Grand Tasting & Auction was held February 22 for the 6th year at the Miromar Lakes Beach Clubhouse! This year’s spirited event raised $2.52 million dollars!

The 3rd largest Charity Wine Auction in the United States, the event has raised more than $10 million dollars to date for Southwest Florida Children’s Charities with Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida as the major benefi ciary.

Private Chef Vintner dinners were held Friday evening, February 21 including one hosted by Miromar Lakes’ residents Deborah and Harvey Paulin and another held in the Arthur Rutenberg Valencia model and Michelangelo Custom Homes’ Maison Coco model in Murano. Saturday afternoon more than 300 guests enjoyed wine from world-class wineries including signature vintner Kosta Browne and sampled food from the area’s top chefs before the generous fundraising auction.

BUSH FAMILY RETURNS TO MIROMAR LAKESThe 7th annual Celebration of Reading fundraising luncheon at Miromar Lakes Beach Clubhouse brought members of the Bush Family and other dignitaries to Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club. Former Governor Jeb Bush and his wife Columba, Senator Garrett Richter and distinguished authors were among the honored guests. The fundraising event for top donors is hosted each year at Miromar Lakes to benefi t the Bush Foundation Family Literacy program.

INTERNATIONAL OPEN WATER SWIMMING RETURNS TO MIROMAR LAKES

Miromar Lakes welcomes the annual Open Water Swim Festival from Friday, April 11 through Sunday, April 13. Miromar Lakes is partnering with Gulf Coast Swim Team for the 4th year for this event which includes an international race and the Florida Open Water Swimming Championships. The festival also includes short races and fun-fi lled events for swimmers of all ages and spectators are welcome.

This year’s inaugural Crippen Cup 10K Marathon Invitational invites participation from the top swimmers from the United States and the top 25 fi nishers from the World Championships and the World Cup. The race is scheduled for April 12 with a $10,000 purse. The late Fran Crippen was one of the top open water swimmers of all time.

Miromar Lakes was the venue used to select the 2008 U.S. Olympic Open Water Team and in 2012 USA Swimming

held its 5K and 10K National Championships at Miromar Lakes. The 10K silver medalist from that event at Miromar Lakes, Haley Anderson, went on to become the silver medalist at the Olympic Games in London.
