Here at Meridian we like to make obtaining a quote for your work surfaces as easy as possible. We can supply you with an estimated quote over the phone if you have the correct measurements & requirements to hand.

Upon agreeing your quote an appointment will then be arranged with you, for our experienced templater to visit your property and measure your work surface area.

We aim for a 3-7 day turnaround from template to fit. During this time our friendly office staff will be in contact with you keeping you updated.

Granite is a natural product formed from igneous rock.

One of the hardest natural materials on the planet, granite has stood the test of time. It is very resistant to high wear and tear with superior abrasion resistance. Effortlessly beautiful and elegant and unbeatably practical that will last a lifetime.

Quartz work surfaces are 93% crushed quartz, one of the earths’ toughest minerals, mixed with high quality polymer resins and then compacted under intense pressure, vibration and vacuum to form dense, non-porous slabs. The slabs are cured, gauged to exact thickness and polished to a high shine.

Long used for high class residential work surfaces, quartz is now also used as an attractive and versatile finish for industrial and commercial properties, tough enough to withstand everyday wear and tear.

Quartz is available in a variety of colours and patterns.

The edge detail can completely change the appearance of your worktops. The more complicated the edge, the higher the cost as this is a highly skilled and labour intensive task. Our surfaces come with an Arris edge as standard but we can offer various options.

All of our fabrication is carried out at our bespoke facility in Leeds. The work surfaces are cut and manufactured using state of the art equipment and all the latest CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machinery, where each piece is cut to precise and accurate measurements insuring a perfect finish to your granite or quartz work surface.

Each piece goes through quality control checks to guarantee the highest standard.

Who do you sell to?

At Meridian Work Surfaces Ltd we not only supply directly to the public but we also supply to the commercial market. By doing so we can ensure that you get the best service and price.

What is a template?

A template is an exact replica of the required granite or quartz work surfaces. Taking all accurate measurements of the kitchen units and cut outs which may be necessary for hobs and sinks also including any shaping and overhang.

This is then used to manufacture the granite work tops ensuring precision and accurate cutting of the granite or quartz for a perfect work surface installation. Please beware of companies who claim that they do not need to template before fitting and also who cut on site using mobile equipment when installing. Using hand held cutters or polishers in your home can often result in having to chisel the walls and needing the scribe the back of the granite or quartz edge to install the work surface. This results in a very poor quality work surfaces plus lots of dust, debris and noise.

A top quality Granite or Quartz worktop when finished to the highest quality requires accurate templating before installation. Our cutting and polishing is carried out on the latest precision machinery in a dedicated and bespoke manufacturing facility, ensuring a perfect fit and a superior finish.

Do you remove existing work tops?

Our team of fitters do not remove existing worktops. In certain cases our templaters can template for your job with the existing tops still in place however, we recommend that they are removed beforehand to ensure that the templates are as precise as possible.

All base units should be fitted including end panels and secured. Any existing or temporary work surfaces or worktop appliances should be removed. (i.e. hobs and sinks.)

If the walls are tiled, any tiles that may prevent the templates being taken must be removed in order for the new work surfaces to be templated right back to the wall.

What is involved in a template and a fit?

During both a template and a fit all appliance’s must be on site.

Please note that Meridian Work Surfaces Ltd do not install sinks or hobs nor do we undertake any electrical or plumbing work. A representative must be available during templating to confirm sizes etc and to sign off the template before the template leaves the property.

Do I need to be there when you template and install?

Yes you are required to be there when we template and install your work surfaces to be able to answer any questions that we may have. This also helps so that you can ensure that you are happy with the finished product.

How long from templating will it take to fit my worktops?

We aim to have a turnaround time of 3-7 days from the template to the fit for both granite and quartz, this is dependent on how complex the job is.

How can I get a quote?

Simply type your measurements with your preferred granite or quartz colour using our online quotation tool. Or if you prefer you can either call us, email us or fax us with your measurement’s and preferred colour along with your contact details where one of our friendly members of staff will aim to get your quote back to you within the hour.

What are the payment terms?

At Meridian Work Surfaces Ltd we require a 50% deposit on completion of templates. Templates will then be re-priced when returned to the office; you will then be contacted with the balance owing on completion of the fit.

We accept many ways of payments however, our preferred method would be a bank transfer. If not we do accept cheques which need to be made payable to Meridian.

We will not commence with any cutting of your granite worktops until we have received confirmation of colour and your 50% deposit, you will then be contacted to arrange the fitting of your granite worktops. Final payment is due on completion.
