What a joy to be BACK in Africa! We've been enjoying reconnecting with friends, students and colleagues as weget settled back into the WAAST routine (which is constantly changing!).

Our 21-year-old refrigerator “died” while we were in the States, but we found a local repairman to resurrect it! Ourair conditioner had ceased to cool while we were gone, but a local repairman was able to put in a mismatchedmotor and get us some relief. Our 21-year-old stove had stopped working while others were using our house.Bernie went online and found that the part needed hadn't been available for several years, but after a two-weeksearch yet another local repairman was able to find a part and make it work. Are you detecting a theme here? Yes,our appliances are old, but over here there always seems to be a way to get things going again! We were gone forover a year, but with some adjustments, even we can be useful in God's service here!

The great transition called Graduation is upon us as we prepare to see 120 students from 16 different countries“walk the line” to return to full-time ministry. May the transformation that has taken place in them here at WAASTbear even more fruit for eternity!

We are preparing for a building team from Lafayette First Assembly CommunityMinistries and Lakeview Church (both in Indiana). They will be helping us to transformclassrooms, dorms, and a new multi-use building through construction and painting.

The WAAST International Chapel continues to see growth as more are transformed by thepower of Jesus Christ. We've built a new outdoor baptistry with plans to inaugurate it bybaptizing 33 members of the new converts' class on November 8.

The church in Togo continues to see explosive growth as new churches are being started each week. The need forshelters for worship is critical. We have the facilities to build simple tabernacle structures, but no one to overseethe building process. Please pray with us that God will raise up someone who can lead this vital ministry.
