The world population is rapidly ageing
Between 2000 and 2050, the proportion of the world's population
over 60 years will double from about 11% to 22%. The absolute
number of people aged 60 years and over is expected to increase
from 605 million to 2 billion over the same period.
Health & Rehab
The need for long-term care is rising
The number of older people who are no longer able to look after
themselves in developing countries is forecast to quadruple by
2050. Many of the very old lose their ability to live independently
because of limited mobility, frailty or other physical or mental
health problems. Many require some form of long-term care, which
can include home nursing, community care and assisted living,
residential care and long stays in hospitals.
Health & Rehab
The political focus in the Health & Rehab area
The last year we have seen increased focus and more expectations
regarding Rehab to play a more significant role in our society to
meet the challenges we are facing, both National and
Internationally. We are faced with servicing more citizens with less
ressources and less money.
And it is neccessary to focus on quality, evidens and best practice.

The DRG focus in the Health & Rehab area
It is our contribution within our area to strengthen 3
bottomlines:
1. The municipalities/regions economy and the workingenvironment for the employees.
2. Increased life quality for the citizens.
3. The companies earnings for investing in furter development, innovation and export.

Future alliances in Health & Rehab
Health & Rehab is not only the service produced by the public sector –
the municipalities, hospitals etc.
Health & Rehab is created jointly. To sustain and further develop this area
it requires that i.e. municipalities find new ways of solving their tasks.
One of the ways is to rethink and strenghten the interaction between the
public sector, the citizens, the local community and the business
community.
We shall develop what we call the future Health & Rehab alliances with
clarity in frame, roles and responsibilities.
