LOCATION OVERVIEW

Grant Park, the intown neighborhood surrounding the Park,is one of Atlanta's oldest and most important historicdistricts, listed on the NRHP. It is bordered by theCabbagetown neighborhood on the north, Ormewood Parkon the east, Boulevard Heights on the southeast,Chosewood Park on the south, and Summerhill andPeoplestown on the west.

It includes the Park, 48 acres or 35 hectares of OaklandCemetery (established 1850), where Margaret Mitchell,Bobby Jones, 25 former mayors of Atlanta, six formergovernors of Georgia, and many Civil War dead are buried. Italso includes the Atlanta Stockade; Fort Walker; and the1858 mansion of Lemuel P. Grant, for whom the park andneighborhood were named. The mansion is thesecond-oldest house still standing on its original location inAtlanta. The Grant Park Neighborhood Associationrepresents local residents.

Together with Inman Park, Grant Park contains the largestremaining area of Victorian architecture in Atlanta. Mostbuildings were built between the neighborhood's founding in1882 and the first decades of the 20th century. Largetwo-story mansions face the park, more modest two-story,modified Queen Anne houses were built on surroundingstreets, and one-story Victorian era cottages and Craftsmanbungalows were built to the east of the park.

The neighborhood is home to St. Paul United MethodistChurch, which for a time in the early 1900s had the largestMethodist congregation in the Southeast, and whichcontinues to be a thriving congregation. St. Paul is wellknown for its beautiful stained glass windows and an organthat was acquired in 1887. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Michael Dennis Reeves is an experienced entrepreneur, business operator and developer. As a key

partner in three start ups over the last twenty years, he understands the complexity and the critical

path of moving businesses forward and the importance of that real estate plays in the growth

process.

Embarking on commercial real estate as a second career in 2007, Reeves has become an expert in

the intown Atlanta commercial real estate markets. Specifically he has focused geographically within

a 5 mile triangle. Anchored on the east side by the Kensington Marta station; and on the west side by

the Beltline West side Trail and then south on Lee Street corridor to the Ft McPherson. This area of

expertise includes the City of Decatur, the Memorial Drive corridor and West End. Reeves engages

client relationships with developers looking for in-town opportunities, with property owners looking

for the highest and best use for sale and business owners looking to operate near the city core.

He prides himself on in-depth understanding of the cycles of real estate and knowing where the

market is in that cycle, identifying today’s opportunities and tomorrow values. He has enjoyed being a

commercial Realtor at Adams for the last 8 years.

A graduate in economics from Amherst College, Reeves stared his career as an GE Financial

Management Program recruit and graduate in Stamford CT at GE Capital Headquarters, From there

he was transferred to Atlanta with GE.

Michael serves on the 2015 Board of Directors of the Georgia CCIM Chapter developing monthly

informational programs and networking opportunities centered around the CCIM Institute’s mission.

When he is not at the office or touring properties, you may find him walking his two dogs Annie and

Gracie on the Freedom Parkway Trail or cycling with his spouse Elaine on the Beltline Eastside Trail.

He also is a key Board Member of the Freedom Barkway Dog Park and member of the Inman Park

and Old Fourth Ward Neighborhood Associations.
