Dates WELCOME We welcome Aurelia to 5D. The students are excited about having Au-relia and her family within the Belrose PS community. CONTINUED GREAT LEARNING AND TEACHING AT BELROSE We continue to have all of our teachers doing a magnificent job with teaching our students. Along with our class programs, our curricular activities are proceeding as we are looking forward to presenting our instrumental, songs and dance routines later in the year. We continue to update the community on the latest developments from the Depart-ment of Education and Department of Health. In keeping with the gen-eral community advice, we have four main messages: -Clean your hands with soap and water, or hand sanitiser -Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze -Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu like symptoms -Stay home if you are sick. Our teachers and their students need to remain healthy during current times, so please continue to work with us by not sending your children to school with flu related symptoms. If we need to communicate promptly with parents, it will be through email and the Parent Facebook page. If our school is ever closed, the teachers and students already use the digital platforms of Google Suite for Education and Seesaw depository of learning to share work. Other subscriptions of imaths, mathletics, soundswaves spelling, Sunshine reading, World Book and Reading eggs could be utilised, if required.

THANK YOU YEAR 6, 2019 Our Year 6 gifts to the school have been delivered consisting of 8 ipads, covers and a docking station. We are also testing a Portable Tablet Stage Stand for an ipad so that students’ work can be mirrored onto the commboxes. All classrooms have 80 inch 4G touchscreen commboxes as well as our library and ICT rooms. We are the only school within our Community of Schools to replace all out-dated technology. Our students and teachers deserve the best. ‘EARLY READING SUCCESS’ INFORMATION SESSION Thank you to Mrs Green and Mrs Iwakura for presenting ‘Early Reading Success’ to our parents last week. SCHOOL INTERVIEWS At this stage, we are unable to do the interviews in weeks 10 and 11. We will update you in time. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST Thank you Year 6 parents for returning the EOI forms for high school for 2021. Please complete all booklets, regardless of at-tending an independent school by tomorrow. EASTER HAT PARADE WITHIN CLASSROOMS We are going to continue to have our Easter Hat Parade but within each classroom on the last day. Students are asked to de-sign a hat of non-perishable objects. As the students move through the grades, many are able to reuse their hats from previous years. The event will occur on Thursday, 9 April during class time, unfortunately without parents. Students wear mufti/play clothes to school on this day. Maybe a special and healthy furry friend may visit the school that day! BULLYING NO WAY Each child will be receiving a wristband tomorrow. The band represents our school’s stance against bullying. Our school has a No Bullying policy of which the main message is that it will not be tolerated at any time and in any form. Although students may refer to the word ‘bullying’ it is often used loosely today. Students disagreeing or bickering over an event or during a discussion are then accused of bullying. Teachers from time to time may present a lesson or have ‘circle time’ which focuses on this area. Our message is clear that students need to speak out if bullying occurs, especially if it is witnessed by peers. All of our staff are here for all students and they investigate promptly. The free bands may be worn each day until the end of term to school. Belinda Zorian Principal [email protected] FROM COMMBANK SCHOOL BANKING The health, safety and wellbeing of our communities and our people is our first priority. Due to the developing situation with coro-navirus, School Banking has been temporarily paused from 20 March 2020 until the start of Term 2. Please don’t bring your de-posit book with your weekly banking into school and we will notify you when banking will recommence.

PSSA HAS BEEN CANCELLED CROSS COUNTRY HAS BEEN POSTPONED SENIOR CRICKET
Today we were playing Terrey Hills. They beat us 37-69. I think the player of the match should be Tim for improving in his bowl-ing and batting. It was a tough game.
James N
JUNIOR CRICKET
Today at Wyatt Oval we lost 61-58 against Terrey Hills. We need to work on our bowling because we constantly bowled wide balls so this week at training we will work on our bowling. The highlight of the game was the great communication from our team. The player of the match was Lachlan A.

On Friday we played an excellent game and won 10-9, it was so close. The player of the match goes to someone who tried hard which is Sahraa because she did a great job as catcher. Ruby did a great job at sneaking and Ella did a fabulous job at pitching.

Well done to all the T-Ball players. T-Ball B’s score was 22-15. Our batting was really consistent. Great job for the win and the player of the match is Harper S because of her confident catching and batting.
