Before we start……• Take a white slip of paper and

write your favorite pizza topping

• Only write ONE!! • I will explain what this is for a little

later, so do NOT lose it!

WWII: Types of Government• One of the main causes for WWII is the

rise of totalitarian regimes and dictators.

• Today, you are going to learn about all the types of government present in WWII

• Democracy

• Communism

• Fascism

• Nazism

WWII Governments: Jigsaw Reading

• The class is going to be broken into four groups

• Each group is going to read about a specific type of government during WWII

• You have 3 minutes to independently read this on your own.

• Once everyone is finished, you will come together as a group and discuss your findings

• Assign a leader of your group

What pizza are you going to order?• Now that you are familiar on the characteristics of your

government, each group is going to take the role of that specific regime.

• The chosen leader becomes either the president or dictator of your government.

• In your group, you must decide WHAT PIZZA ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER?

• You must come to this conclusion based on the way your type of government makes decisions.

• The catch: You can only have ONE topping on the ENTIRE pizza!

• Be ready to discuss the decision making process!

Discussion• One at a time, each group is going to tell the

rest of the class about their decision making process.

• Remember: speaker courtesy!• Describe the characteristics of your

government.• What type of pizza did you decide to order?• How did you make this decision?• Was it difficult? Explain.• Do you think the majority of your group is happy

with this decision? Why or why not?
