Plan
• The purpose of this training is to provide school-level test coordinators with the knowledge, skills and resources needed to effectively and efficiently administer the BOG 3 test.
• Participants will be able to:
• Plan and implement the BOG 3 test administration according to North Carolina and Montgomery County Schools testing programs.
• Locate testing resources to assist with proper test planning and administration.
• Understand the current changes and future direction of the North Carolina and Montgomery County Schools testing programs.

Student Marks Answers in Test Book
• ALL students may write in
their test booklet –
no accommodation needed!
• Students with MIB must not be given an answer sheet, must circle answers in book
• Students with MIB do not transfer their answers from booklet to answer sheet
• May be tested in regular setting

Dictation to a Scribe
• For both paper-and-pencil and online, two test administrators must be present
• One fills role of test administrator
• One fills role of scribe
• A separate proctor is not required

Scheduled Extended Time
• Clarification: Extended time is to be provided in addition to maximum testing time
• Most tests have maximum testing time of 240 minutes
• NCEXTEND1 has no maximum testing time

What About Online Testing?
• Large font and foreground/background options available to all students
• Not ‘accommodations’ – universal design
• Must be selected in NC Education before testing day

• May use second computer monitor
• Dictation to a Scribe
• Scribe can record responses directly on computer or on piece of paper
• If recorded online, test administrator and scribe to sign statement of validation
• Test administrators complete Accommodations Provided screen after testing

Computer Reads Test Aloud – Student Controlled
• Operational EOC online tests (not English I) and online field tests
• Must be selected in student interface questions (SIQ) before testing
• Separate room (one-on-one) required unless headphones are used
• Student clicks on speaker icon next to text to activate read aloud option
• Consider bandwidth when scheduling

• WIDA level below 4.0 AND 1st year in U.S. schools
• Medical exceptions approved by the NCDPI
• One day, unless noted
• Administered at the same time
• 42 multiple choice items; 90 minutes estimated; 180 minutes maximum
• Three-minute break every 30-minutes; 5 minutes warning
• NO CELL PHONES
• Train test administrators and proctors
• Results released in October
