Pre-HealthIf you’re specifically interested in a career in medicine, pharmacy or another health-related field, you’ll benefit from our collaboration with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, one of the largest health care universities in the Midwest. Through The Alliance for Health Sciences, we’ve designed joint curricula, providing access to hands-on research projects and created early-admission pathways to six master ’s and doctoral programs at Rosalind Franklin University.

Living on CampusLincoln Park offers a mixture of residence halls and apartments, which provide a variety of living accommodations for students. Students who prefer to stay near the Loop Campus may live in the multi-college housing facility known as the University Center. This 18-story building features three floors of study, dining and recreation space, including a rooftop terrace. On-campus living is not mandatory.
Athletics & RecreationDePaul’s athletic teams compete in the NCAA Division I BIG EAST conference in women’s basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball; and men’s basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, tennis, and track and field. The Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center has a four-court gym, a six-lane pool, three racquetball courts, dozens of cardio machines, and strength-training equipment.
Academic CalendarDePaul operates on a quarter system. Unlike semesters, quarters are 10 weeks in length, occurring in the fall, winter, spring and summer.

Freshman Transfer
CONDITIONAL ADMISSIONStudents who score at least 60 on the iBT TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS can be considered for conditional admission. Students who accept conditional admission must study at DePaul’s English Language Academy (ELA) until they demonstrate English proficiency.
ELA is a full-time, intensive English program focused on the language skills used in university degree programs. ELA courses are offered at five proficiency levels and taught by expert instructors. Classes are small, usually from 10 to 15 students. For details visit ela.depaul.edu.
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
English language proficiency, demonstrated by ONE of the following:
- IBT TOEFL: minimum score of 80, with no section lower than 17
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.5 overall
- PTEA: minimum score of 53
- SAT: minimum evidence-based reading and writing score of 540
- ACT: minimum reading score of 18 and English score of 20
- A minimum grade of C in Composition I and Composition II (or the equivalent to DePaul’s WRD 103 and WRD 104) from a U.S.-accredited college or university

Scholarships, Rates and Fees
SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
DePaul awards more than $28 million in scholarships annually. U.S. citizens and permanent residents also may apply for federal student aid.

Incoming Freshman ScholarshipsFreshman academic scholarships are based on academic achievement in secondary school and standardized test scores. The awards range from $13,000 to $23,000 per year, renewable for three consecutive additional years. Priority consideration is given to students who submit their admission application by November 15.
Transfer ScholarshipsTransfer academic scholarships are based on previous collegiate academic achievement as defined by grade point average. The awards range from $3,000 to $13,000 per year and are renewable for two additional year.
Please note: Theatre, Music, Returning/Readmit, Non-Degree, and School for New Learning students are not eligible for these awards.
