EMILLY

It’s always an ordinary day at Woolim High. Students are listening, teachers are teaching. Everything’s fine. Until that day came, nobody expected that it would happen to their school and

their fellow student.

Foreword:

It's break time! Almost all of the students are outside their rooms, chatting, eating, and roaming around the school. Most of the students stay on the 2nd floor of the building, because of its air-conditioned corridors and wide space.

“Hey you, can you do me a favor? Here,“ a girl said while pulling a piece of paper from her pocket and handing it over him.

"Yes, but make sure this is easy huh?" he opened the note and read it.

After reading, "Are you serious about this?" he asked. "Of course I am. So, is it a deal?" the girl said with puppy eyes and pout lips.

"Easy cheesy! DEAL!" the boy said, giving her a 'thumbs up' gesture.

"If you quit, I'll tell everybody your secret. I know you’re--" stopped by the boys’ eyes-wide-opened stare, that explains that it's a very deep secret he has.

Meanwhile, in the other side of the corridor, there are 4 girls chatting. One of them is Camille, she transferred to this school to look for her lost sister.

"I think Emilly and I won't make a good friendship. I don't like her attitude!" Camille told the other three girls.

"Yeah, she's kind of annoying, I don't want to be with her," one of the girls said.

As they continue talking about Emilly, who's very clueless about all the gossips about her, all those who are in the 2nd floor heard a bunch of people shouting like they're making fun of someone. Chris is there, who is everybody’s servant, looks like he's leading them.

"BOOOOO! You don't belong to this school, you're ugly!" the crowd shouts, and in the middle of them is no other than Emilly, she's being bullied! Other students didn't expect that she'd be bullied in a very harsh way. "Ssshh! Shhh! There's a teacher!" Chris whispered. "Stop that! Bullying is bad. Everyone go back to your rooms," Mr. Raniego said, helping poor Emilly wipe her tears, they walked away.

Kyle, who really likes Emilly a lot, followed them and told Mr. Raniego that he'll take over. The teacher left, and there's only the two of them by the stairs of the corridor.

"Just ignore those bullies, they're just insecure and jealous of you," Kyle said, looking calmly at her.

Emilly just looked at him, with a very unhappy face, she then said, "Well, haters do make me famous,” and smiled a bit. They continued talking while walking downstairs, Kyle's holding her hand.

July 1 11:16 PM

Dear diary,

Guess who's being bullied at school? Yup, yup! It's Emilly. She'll now realize that she does not belong to this school. Attention seeker and everything, it's annoying! But, one of my classmates told me that I look like her... I think so, too. What if she's my sister? Arrgh, whatever, got to sleep now.

It's not just a normal day at Woolim High right now, maybe because of the bullying that happened yesterday. Emilly, the girl who was bullied, didn't attend class today. Where could she be? Teachers can't contact her parents because all they know is that the school president just found Emilly at the street, gave her a scholarship, and let her stay at the school dorm. But this is a secret kept among the faculty members only. Nobody knows where she is. While most of the students are curious and are making their own conclusions, Elaine, with her “followers” Ara and Erine, are gossiping about Emilly. “Did you know that Emilly was just a street child then the principal found her and gave her a room at the dorm?” Erine told Ara and Elaine who were shocked upon hearing it.

“WHAT? Are you sure, she looks like a rich person, what is your source?” Elaine asked Erine raising an eyebrow at her. “Well, I heard it in the faculty one time,” she said. In the other corner, Ivy and Kyle had their own discussion, too. “So where do you think Emily went? I mean, like, she’s the only student here who doesn’t have absents since first year,” Kyle let out a sigh facing Ivy. “Uhm, why are you asking me? I’m not her mother,” Ivy replied a little bit pissed off. “Duh! Because you’re best friends,” Kyle replied, rolling his eyes. “But that doesn’t mean that I have to know everything she does, everywhere she goes, and everyone she talks to,” Ivy replied even more pissed off. “Whoa, chill! Chill! Just asking,” Kyle said.

And then, there's Camille, who was being irritated by hearing Emilly’s name here and there, she kicked her chair and went out of the room. Everyone continued their businesses. Hours have passed and class was officially over. Everyone went home except…. “Hold it right there mister!” a girl said.

“Now what? I’ve done my job already! I killed her!” The boy replied with a pissed off tone.

“I just want to congratulate you for a job well done! Make sure nobody finds out or else you know what happens next!” the girl added.

“Yeah, yeah I’m not an idiot to leave an evidence,” he said.

“Fine, meeting adjourned, see you tomorrow!” the girl said and they both left.

The gossip girl, Camille, heard their conversation and now she’s a bit scared and curious who those people are. She ran off to the gates and went home.

July 028:16 PM

Dear Diary,

Guess what? Emilly is missing! Finally she’s gone, but I’m still suffering because I always hear Emilly's name everywhere! It's so frustrating! But the conversation I heard at the corridor is driving me nuts! What did it mean? It really scared the hell out of me, especially when I heard the word “KILLED”. Oh my gosh! Who was killed and who could have done that? Hmm.. Today is so exhausting! Got to sleep big test tomorrow!

The next day, Camille woke up at 4:00 AM sharp, she has to be early today. She ate her breakfast, took a bath and left home for school. There were an ambulance and police cars in the gates of their school, Camille rushed to a police officer and asked “What happened here, sir?” she asked with a curious face.

“A student was found dead by the guard near the abandoned building,” the police answered. “What’s the name of the student, sir?” Camille asked, surprised, her eyes were bigger than ever.

“The name is Emilly Reyes, 4th year senior student, do you know her, miss?” The policeman replied. Camille gasped. Upon hearing the name, she didn’t know what to do, “Y—yes, she’s my classmate.” She said with a shuttered voice.

EMILLY REYES FOUND DEAD!

EMILY Reyes, senior student council member found lifeless last July 3 at the back of abandoned building (formerly the arts & music building).

The school guard said that Ms.Reyes was in a bloody white dress with a rock and knife near her. It was so horrible to describe her at that time due to explicit of gore. The school principal was disappointed of the tragedy, he lost a model student and an apprentice, It’s also saddening to know that Ms. Reyes died 2 months before her 18th birthday. She’s very popular in the school for her talent and looks and attitude, Woolim High will remember you Emilly Reyes.

Months have passed, and the tragedy was

forgotten, gone by the wind…

But what if…

SHE’S BACK?

It's been 2 months since the news about Emilly who was found dead near the abandoned building of the school came out, the president and the faculty members came up with an idea to celebrate Emilly's 18th birthday and reminisce those moments with her.

"Class dismissed! Kean and the other student council members in this section, please come with me, the principal wants to talk to you," Mr. Raniego said, he left the room with Kyle, Camille, Ivy, Chris, Kean, and Elaine, the senior members of the SC.

At the principal's office, Ms. San Juan explained the plan of celebrating Emilly's birthday, which they need to rush because her birthday is tomorrow. The six students started right away.

Hours and hours of cutting, painting, and pasting... One by one, the teachers left, and the six students were still in the faculty room, it's already dark outside.

"We're almost done! It's 11:47 PM! Aahh!" Kean said while stretching his arms and yawning. "What are you doing, Camille?" he asked.

"I'm writing on my diary.." she answered.

September 2 11:47 PM

Dear diary,

We're still at school, it's like we're going to camp here. I feel a little sleepy, my hand hurts. It's Emilly's birthday tomorrow, why do they have to celebrate it like she's really here? Is she really that special? Oh well... I need to go to our room now, Bye.

Camille went to their room to get Emilly's things, they need to place it in a box for tomorrow's occasion. She opened it, got everything, and there she saw a handkerchief who's very familiar. She took her wallet and looked at the photo inside, it's a photo of her and her lost sister who's holding the same handkerchief like in Emilly's locker. She then realized that her lost sister was Emilly, the one she hates and ignores a lot.

"After all these years, you were just the one I'm looking for. I'm so sorry," she said, with a tear falling from her eye.

“So what are you going to tell me?” Ivy asked, playing with her hair.

“Ivy, I LOVE YOU! The moment I first saw you on our first year high school, I was stunned by your looks and your attitudes! So will you be my girlfriend?” Kean confessed.

“I'm sorry but I'm going to say NO!” Ivy gave Kean a cold stare, slapped him, and walked back to the faculty room.

Back in the faculty room, Kyle, Elaine, and Chris are still busy cleaning the room. Kean and Ivy are just sitting awkwardly on the floor. Kean looked at Ivy and asked, "Hey, can we talk for a moment, outside?" it seems to be important so, "Okay, fine," Ivy answered.

While Kean is still outside, brokenhearted, the others are busy decorating, “Aish! Why do we have to do these things all night? She’s not even a hero or a celebrity for us to do this!” Elaine complained. “Yeah, it’s already 11:58 and we’re here doing this,” Ivy replied.

12:00 AM Thunder and lightning appeared in the sky, the lights are flickering, the wind is strong and blew the papers away. A few seconds later, there came a major black-out.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!” Elaine released a high pitched scream. Everyone rushed out of the room. They were all surprised to see a girl in white dress and it was Emilly, her dress became bloody, there are blood dripping from her, then she let out an evil smirk. Without thinking, they ran away from Emilly. They reached the stairs and they ran down to the first floor checking every door, luckily, the seniors’ room is open they entered and locked the door. Elaine was left in the faculty room, but nobody noticed.

“Okay, what was that?” Camille said catching her breath.

“It’s Emilly’s ghost you fools!” Chris said angrily.

“Uhm, why will Emily haunt us?” Kyle said with a questioning look.

“Because somebody KILLED HER! The day she was missing, I heard two people talking about something, then the girl asked the boy if it’s done, the boy said – yes, ‘I KILLED her!’” Camille burst into tears. “So, who killed her?” Kyle asked. “I don’t know I can’t recognize the voices,” Camille answered. Everybody heard a strange noise and noticed something written on the board. It was written in blood.

The one who killed me, is the one I trust the most… Go again to the last place

you went, and be here after 5 minutes.

Everyone rushed back to the faculty room, and after awhile, they heard a scream and it sounded like Elaine. They looked for the source of the sound and they all came near the science room on the same floor. There they saw Elaine lying on the floor, she looks dead. They can’t do anything because of fear so they all went back to the senior’s room within 5 minutes, and this time, the writings on the board changed.

I did that to her because she’s my

mortal enemy. She’s NOT the one who killed

me.

Chris, who’s already freaking out, said, “IT’S IVY! She told me to kill Emilly! She’s jealous of Emilly because Kyle likes her, and also because of her popularity!” Camille, who’s shocked about what Chris said, came close to Ivy and slapped her. “How could you?!” Camille said madly. Ivy got scared and ran away from the others.

The others were left there, Ivy is being chased by Emilly in the corridor. Scared and nervous, she ran really fast until she tripped over some books and fell. "Please don't hurt me! I'm so sorry for what I did! Please," Ivy said, shaking and while wiping her tears.

“I won’t hurt you, Ivy. I just want to clear things up. Making you jealous, as the result of my hard work to gain popularity as a school model, isn’t what I wanted,” Emilly told Ivy, who is now looking calmly at her. “I uhm…. I’m very sorry, Emilly. I’ll do anything you want, just please don’t hurt the others,” Ivy begged.

“I only want one thing…” Emilly replied. Ivy looked down, her heart is beating fast, and asked, “What is it?”. “If I want you to come and be with me, would you do it?” Emilly replied with a question, which made Ivy think for some seconds.

After making her decision, she looked at Emilly,“Of course, I’d do that. As we promised each other, since we’re on first year, we’ll be BEST FRIENDS FOREVER, no mater what happens,” she said, with a smile on her face.

While the others went to the science room to pick up Elaine, they heard a very loud scream that made them all shocked. Kean lifted Elaine and they all went outside, there they saw Emilly and Ivy together. Ivy doesn’t look real anymore, none of them asked questions because they now understand everything.

They sang ‘Happy birthday’ while smiling at the two from afar. It’s Emilly’s birthday, remember. After that, the 5 students cleaned up their mess, waved at their two friends, and left the school.

Emilly’s birthday was celebrated safely. It was great! After a few weeks, as for the others, Camille, who became Kyle’s girlfriend, stopped on being a gossip girl and became the head of their school paper. Kyle became the captain of the basketball team and Camille’s boyfriend.

While Elaine, who wasn’t dead after all, (because Emilly didn’t actually killed her, she just knocked her out), she is the new Ms. Popular and Ms. Nice Girl, and also Kean’s fiancée. Kean, the new SC president, after Emilly being killed, was still a nerd but a sweet lover.

And Chris…. well it’s revealed that he’s gay, and now he’s nobody’s servant anymore.

Everything’s at peace now! Even though Emilly and Ivy are always on the school ground, not leaving their friends… they don’t scare, instead, they just watch them. Every September is called the best friend day because of Ivy and Emilly’s friendship for each other till death.

Everyday at Woolim High, since the time when the 5 senior SC members were at school (preparing for Emilly’s birthday celebration), and the time when Ivy disappeared… The two of them, Emilly and Ivy, are always seen by the guards,

Only when… It’s
