Introduction:
BeeLine Reader for the
Chrome web browser is an
extension that allows users to
improve their reading skills.
The colour gradient used in
this extension allows users to
read text quickly and
accurately. The visual tracking
enables readers to focus on
decoding and comprehension.
Task Challenge/Activity
open the Chrome web browser on your computer/laptop
install the BeeLine Reader extension through the Chrome Web Store
once installed, BeeLine Readers’s extension icon will appear next
to the web address bar in the upper right corner of the Chrome web
browser
go to a website of your choice
o for example, https://www.ancient.eu/Roman_Architecture/
once the page has loaded, click the BeeLine Reader icon next to the
address bar
the text on the page will turn different colours (depending on the
theme you have selected)
also a pop-up menu appears that allows users to change the themes
and settings
o under “Themes,” the user may select one of the following
themes: bright, blues, dark, gray, night gray, night blues, custom
colours

o users can select “Activate BeeLine in Clean Mode” that will reload the webpage with only the text
and declutters the distractions
o under “Settings,” users are able to enable the “OpenDyslexic font,” disable the “enable auto-
color” setting, enable “Never Colour this site” and “Focus Mode”
