Do you want a job that is creative and satisfying with good career prospects?
Do you want to make a contribution towards your country and community?
If your answer is YES, think about training to become a Foundation Phase teacher at Rhodes University.
The Education Department at Rhodes is dedicated to developing teachers who are creative, caring, competent and critical.
In 2015 Rhodes launched a new 4-year, full-time, BEd in Foundation Phase Teaching. The programme aims to prepare students to teach in a diversity of contexts, but especially in rural schools where isiXhosa is the language of learning and teaching.
We are accepting a new intake of students in 2016.
*A limited number of Funza Lushaka bursaries are available. They are awarded on merit.
What do you need to be accepted on the course?A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a Bachelors pass. In addition, you need an APS (academic point score) of 40 though the Dean of Education will consider applicants with scores between 32 and 39.
