The words bed bugs and scabies, can make you

start to itch and cause panic and uncertainty.

These common creepy crawlies can be treated

and prevented by providing education and helpful

tips to health care professionals, patients and

those providing care/services in community

settings.

Attendees will obtain information on understanding

the differences between bed bugs and scabies as

well as treatment, prevention and control methods.

At the present time, both are not reportable to the

local health departments within North Carolina but

require prompt attention by those affected.

Bed Bug Education will provide Epidemiology

and Risk Factors, Prevention and Control and

finally treatment options. Attendees will also

have the opportunity to see firsthand samples of

bed bugs.
