These cause emissions which are carried by the wind. The wind acts as transport which results in chemical reactions. According to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) air pollutants are directly released into the air but many others are formed in the air. The most common are: • Carbon monoxide (CO) • Lead (Pb) • Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) • Ozone (O3) • Particulate matter (PM), and • Sulfur dioxide (SO2)

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has a researchable data base of approximately 16,000 foods and drinks that are packaged in materials that have chemicals. In particular, BPA (Bisphenol A) which is a chemical in the epoxy used inside of cans to prevent corrosion. This is found in the 126 million canned foods manufactured in the U.S. each year.

The industry list contains 11,879 unique product names. Because of variations in some products and incomplete information for others, EWG's conservative calculation finds more than 16,000 traceable Universal Product Codes.

This is contamination before you even eat or drink the item. The CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) did a study in 2003 to determine the exposure of BPA. The findings demonstrated that 93% of the population of people six years and older where BPA was detectable in urine samples.

Randomly tested 28 chiropractic patient’s serum lipid levels on the purification program

9 males and 19 females: tested weight, triglycerides, cholesterol

Patients were not on any lipid lowering drugs

Patient’s ate fruits and vegetables only and consumed the whole food concentrate supplements provided with the program

RESULTS:

Powell, J, & Leonard, J. A nutritional program improved lipid profiles and weight in 28 chiropractic patients: a retrospective case series. Journal of Chiro Med. (2008) 7, 94-100.

Total cholesterol decreased for all 28 patients who completed the 21-day purification program. Total cholesterol decreased an average of 47 points in these patients.

Days 1-10 Dietary Regimen

First task: Learning to master making a nutritious & delicious supplement shake

This is my personal favorite! I call it the Green Goddess! The Green Goddess Shake ½ cup coconut milk, unsweetened ½ cup water (add more water if you like a thinner shake) ½ cup frozen mango ½ small frozen banana 2 scoops of SP Complete Regular or Vanilla 1 Tbsp. hemp hearts 1 Tbsp. chia seeds 1 Tbsp. flax seeds Handful of frozen kale ( I freeze my kale when I can’t eat it before it goes bad) I put all the ingredients into the blender (I use a Nutribullet) and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Special Dietary Considerations

Diabetics

Low glycemic index fruits ~ berries

Eat smaller more frequent meals

Do not consume juice

Add ¼- ½ tsp cinnamon to shakes

Blueberries, sweet potatoes and lentils can help support healthy blood sugar already in a normal range.

Purification Expectations

Frequency of urination may increase as the body is flushing out substances.

Increased bowel movements. This is a normal response to cleansing.

In some instances, people will have side effects such as a throbbing sensation in the head, generalized aches, itchy skin, or even a little fatigue.

These symptoms are normal responses to cleansing and should pass after the first day or so.

Once past this, you should start to feel better than you have in years! Work with your practitioner as needed.

EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE!

Did I say “Exercise”?

Moving the body is another key way to support your body during these 21 days.

For cardio: Walking is simple and safe, with minimal equipment required. My recommendation is to get a Pedometer, you probably have one on your smart phone. The pedometer will help keep you accountable.

Goal: 10,000 steps per day, everyday!

For muscle tone: I highly recommend some type of strength training. You can use machines, free weights, bands or your own body weight for exercise. This is important to maintain muscle and at the same time to burn body fat.

Goal: 3-4 times per week!
